Bought a tub of powdered activated charcoal toothpaste, jeez what a nightmare!

Being quite a vigorous person in most things I do, are you listening ladies, I brush my teeth with gusto. But, I really wasn't expecting the carnage that ensued, jet black stains everywhere, looked like l'd brushed my teeth with boot polish and all I can say is I ended looking like a badly made up member of a certain popular 1970s variety act!

Anybody else tried the effing stuff?

never tried it. After this never will.

I know people used to clean their teeth with soot, is it a similar principle?

Is it supposed to offer special cleaning qualities? Or just make your teeth black

Hiding in the shadows

I use it once a week, it's brilliant stuff.

You just have to gargle alot after.

And it's brilliant at Halloween for witches teeth!

My mother would tell stories of her war time as a child. Evacuated to the mountains in Europe.

They cleaned their teeth with coal dust.

Lost her teeth age 20

Coincidentally this morning BBC2 had a programme about homemade cleaning products, one was toothpaste made from baking soda and coconut oil basically, a lot more sensible than powdered charcoal!
