Hi guys and gals,
I was just wondering if people are interested in long distance meets? The furthest I’ve travelled is about 150miles. Was a long drive but well worth it. What’s your thoughts? |

"I can’t travel but no. I wouldn’t like someone to travel that distance for me. I would feel too under pressure "
That’s fair enough, it made it a bit more exciting for me. Although the drive was tough on the way there, very easy on the way back mind you haha |

I have travelled over 200 miles to meet someone and people have travelled a similar distance to meet me..
Would i do it again? Yes, but not for a first meet..it would have to be someone i was meeting regularly so i knew it would be worth the journey |

My FWB lives 140 miles away, I visit him every month, I like traveling and he's worth it. OK would love him to be closer but if he was we would be at it all the time. So this way it keeps it exciting and we look forward to when we can meet. |

Yeah I get that, as you could end up with a no show and that’s some travelling for nothing too |

"My husband and I have previously travelled 800 miles round trip.
Wow now that is some serious distance, "
Distance is no barrier. We really wanted to meet the person, and got to spend a long weekend away in a new city. |

This was the same for me but things ended up getting too complicated. Was a shame it ended but probably for the best in the long run |

Totally agree, I wouldn’t mind travelling for a meet, but as the people above have stated for the right person. And after a good chat and maybe video call to make sure there real haha |

I feel the same, I would worry that they would come all that way but reality wasn't as good as what they were imagining, or that I wasn't actually that keen on him, but he's travelled a long way expecting sex... |

We did none of that. A few messages exchanged and we arranged.
There was nothing to lose by going as we planned the weekend away as the priority, the meet was an added bonus. |

I've had people travel to me quite a distance when I've met solo. I would and have travelled a fair way for a meet but not sure I'd travel hundreds of miles for a first meet.
We would and do travel to visit clubs. |

"Does the distance ever matter if it's the place you want to be....
Exactly this. Some people are just worth that extra effort. For social meets as well as play meets. "
Seconded |

Yes, and have done for most meets.
I drive to Leeds pretty regularly to meet a couple which is almost 2.5 hours from where I am.
As long as I've established I'm not being dicked around, then I'm happy to travel for the right people. |

There and to the left a bit |
Yes I have done in the past and would do again - by the time I have usually agreed to meet someone I've talked to them long enough to know they are genuine so trust that they'll be there doesn't even come into it |

For the right lady distance wouldn't be a problem but, I can see that they might feel an expectation was expected, even when not, so they could be put off. |

Personally we wouldn't. But we work rotas and it's rare we even get time off together to meet in the first place.
However if we are away we occasionally look for fun on fab.

We would only travel to meet someone if it was a place we wanted to visit anyway. We would have a naughty weekend away... if the other person turned up and fun happened, it would be a bonus. But we wouldn't travel more than about 30 miles just to meet someone.

We live in France and divert to meet en route around Portsmouth once or twice a year and using the forums meet wherever we travel to . .even Spain . But 150 -200 miles + Just for a 1st meet is very unlikely |

"Yeah I would . Get a B&B . I have and had a great time ??. If you don't get on , well ,its fun to hangout in another part of the world "
This is what I planned before I got ghosted, was quite looking forward to it actually. |

"Life is too short to not take the chance. Even if it means a bit of travelling. And as a few folk have said above,a special fab friend is worth it "
Life is also too short to waste on hours of traveling and risk being messed around, not being compatible in real life, being let down etc.
But I agree if you already know the person then crack on |
