I plonk a fan down in a shady area of the house and they soon gravitate towards it.
I also cool their paws down with a few ice cubes in a towel as they are Molossers who struggle more than other dogs in the eat due to their bulk and massive heads/small snouts. |

"Freeze some dog treats in ice
My pooch loves it." I tried that. I made Peunut Butter and Banana lollies as he loves both . He just looked at me as if to say " what the Fuck is that " and didn't eat them |

I've got a brilliant dog cooler/chiller coat for my little hound.
Have a google as there are a couple of types about.
It just dunks in water and lasts for hours.
I think others can be refridgerated. |

"Give it a brush. Get it trimmed.
I am on a out the dog.
There hair help keep them cool. Worst idea ever."
This never shave to keep them cool it does the opposite their fur is there for many reasons, mainly thermal regulation. Leave it on |

Ive just read you shouldnt give a dog ice as their body then heats up to counteract having ice in the stomach, So making them hotter.
Mine just find themselves a cool floor to lie on. |

Mine has a paddling pool in the shaded part of the garden, free rein to wander about and find a nice bit of tiled floor to splat on and we make weak salt free gravy and freeze in ice cube tray and he has one of those every now and then as a treat. He mainly just chews them up and leaves them to melt but at least his mouth gets cold as he crunches |

"Walk your pooch early or later when it's cooler and when they are in your garden ensure there is shade.
I miss not having a dog There's plenty in Rescue Centres who need a loving home "
Indeed - there's a super one nearby and that's where I will go when I get another one. Currently however to bring another dog into my home is selfish as my lifestyle would be unfair on a dog - I actually prefer them to people. |

I have been filling empty 2 litre pop bottles and freezing them. Our dogs love lying against them in the shade in the garden, plus when they start to melt I top up there water dish with the cool water. |

The frozen bottles of water are a favourite with our cats, the like licking the condensation from them too... They're zonked on our bed in front of the fan most of the time. They are right off their food though. |

Never cover a dogs back or head in a wet towel. Doing this will likely shock your dog.
You turn your dog over and plave the wet cold towel on their belly and chest area.
And or...Place your dog is a paddling pool too or your bath with shallow water. Just enough to cover their paws.
You can buy some great toys in pets at home. You fill with water and freeze overnight. A nice cold toy for them to chew on.
You can also give them cubes of frozen spinach or freeze a whole carrot.
Wet a tea towel, twist it up and place in the freezer. Take out once fully frozen for a cool chew toy. Ideal for teething pups or dogs with sore gums. |

After her walks, I stand my dog in a small paddling pool full of cold water and drape cold wet towels over her until she cools down.
She gets volvic water straight from the fridge to drink.
Oh and all curtains and blinds in the house are closed and fans on everywhere so it's nice and cool for her.
She's a collie crossed with a Lab and GS, her black fur coat has been groomed for summer quite short to to help her.

Kind of on the right lines there. Best to place ice cubes into their water bowel or paddling pool. They like playing with them, similar to apple bobbing! |

They're called cool coats and cool bandanas. They're brilliant. Best place to buy them is Home bargains or b&m's. Pets at home are a rip off. |

if its hot, and you place the back of your hand on the pavement - if its too hot for your hand it will be too hot for your dogs paw, they will blister. make sure they are drinking enough water. If you need to put water on them, it has been suggested not to put a towel on them. Just like a baby luke warm water to cool them down. Keep them in if possible and in the shade |

"Try a sulphur block in the water and trimming belly fur if possible I'm thick . I've never heard of a Sulphur Block lol "
It's a yellow block of sulphur you add to their water bowl and leave it in to cool their blood.
You can get it in vets, pet shops or farm supply shops.
Hatchwells is a common brand.
Google it |

I was told to get a piece of marble for the dog to lie down on.
Another track is a damp towel placed over them, mine loves it.
Keep a fan blowing on them.
Get a dog ice lolly, some places sell them. |
