A 'posh' accent.....
Jump to: Newest in thread
Good questions, although I'm not sure what the answer is. Obviously there are many more factors that determine whether you get on with someone, but my profile has had quite a few pushbacks on the 'posh accent' thing alone ...… well - that's what they said …… so who knows? |

Before i went out with my partner i was seeing a guy who had been some top ranking major in the army or something he was a complete hurray henry and talked really loudly. Used to see people looking when we went out for lunch |

Because of where I'm from and my when growing up my Mum was a stickler for making me speak properly people always say I sound posh. Even tho I've spent my time trying to undo some of it over the years like learning fluent Sailor and trying to bring in more of my Welsh heritage I can't shake it.
I sound like I do but I'm far from proper |

"Another posh twat here, I don’t look like one though but my voice has served me well in getting what I need and being heard. "
Posh people can raise their voices without sounding threatening. |

"I prefer a man who says "Are you having a wonderful time darling?" to one who says "Alright geeze?"." ha. You would love jay then thats how he talks all the while. If hes going down town before me and where meeting up he will say things like "id like you to present yourself at the coffee shop at 11am" the way he speaks still amuses me after all these years |

Works for me, I’d much prefer a Home Counties accent, than some of the others I’ve heard... |

"Nah. Bollocks.
LOL - really?"
I've not really had an issue with having one (but maybe that's just pussy power) and the men who have them (that I know) haven't really struggled. I love them. |

"I prefer a man who says "Are you having a wonderful time darling?" to one who says "Alright geeze?"." the if a man said alright geeze to a woman I would say that is kind of insulting to the woman

I don't see how it would be a liability on Fab because until you meet you're unlikely to know how posh,or not, someone speaks.By that time you've probably already made up your mind whether you're going to exchange bodily fluids with said person anyway, and how they talk is likely irrelevant.
However if somebody addresses me as mate or pal etc, I'm almost certainly not going to be on their wavelength so wouldn't meet them |

Euuggghhh - I hope not. It was actually just a comment on a boring afternoon - no idea I'd so many supportive comments. Not really a typical 'posh boy' either - just educated. And thanks for the kind words - refreshing! X |

No the OP stated a posh accent, that would only be apparent by speaking to them, not reading the profile |

Not sure about 'posh' but being around a smart and articulate woman is a turn on for me, not just sexually but also mentally. It just feels great to be with someone who has plenty to say about plenty of things and in a well-spoken fashion. Either that or I'm just odd... |

What techniques, other than eleqution lessons, did you use? Love a posh accent, but my Welsh accent is so far from it..I think so anyway. |

We are both constantly told we have “posh” accents, which I find highly amusing knowing my own background. It’s simply that we both have had good educations and use real words as opposed to slang all the time.
Accents per se aren’t an issue for us, but being able to understand what’s being said helps.
On a personal note , I find D talking dirty in her “posh” tones a huge turn on. |

I like "posh" accents.
But depends where your from. I get told by the locals round here and my colleagues that I'm posh. I'm not, I just pronounce my words properly as I'm not from round here |

Sounds similar to what I get alot of the time. Apparently the way I speak is odd for my age and where I grew up |

Think yourself lucky I'm from Birmingham so some people wrongly assume I'm rough when In reality I'm only rough between the sheets, they'll never find that out though as their assumption blocks them before it gets to that.
Spend time with those that get you not ones who can't see past their imagination |

I don’t think it’s a liability for men or women. Some women like a rough and ready accent sure. But equally a posh accent usually indicates they’re well educated and intelligent which a lot of women need in a man. |

I’m originally from Berkshire, and now live in Scotland and everyone says I sound posh. Which is furthest from truth... Bracknell is not posh! Ascot maybe certainly not Bracknell.
I get called Hen a lot. Only been in Scotland a year so still getting used to all the phrases. |

I adore a posh accent on a gent, it is a turn on. I've been called posh quite a few times, but I'm really down to earth and my accent isn't very strong at all. |

Hahaha you! We can be described as posh yes though surely it's no different from any accent? Personally I love a Geordie accent |
