In a town Fab forgot

"It’s simple , breakfast , lunch and dinner .

No way supper any longer , who says supper any more ?

lots of people. When your going round someones house later on for a light meal you say your going to supper

It must be regional or something then because with 4 kids from 11 to 39 and no end of people we know , no one says supper .

I think I remember it being spoken of 35 years ago when I lived in Nottingham , but then they had barm cakes and called rolls cobs , so maybe regional .

Those crazy northern monkeys with their funny sayings.......

Yeah , and they called each other ‘ me duck ‘ , I was born in London , lived in Surrey till I left school and then Nottingham for a while till moving to Gloucester . And it was only Nottingham that had a supper thing going on .

Now I ain’t being funny , but if you have lunch , tea , dinner and supper , isn’t that a hell of a lot of food ?

Supper is optional.

Usually required if one has been to a poncy southern restaurant that doesn't put enough scoff on the plate.....

Well for us it’s always been 3 meals a day , and it’s grub not scoff ! "

I usually call it scran.

I'm a 3 meals a day kinda guy myself.

London

My understanding of the origin and definition of dinner is the main meal / so it can be a lunchtime event or in the evening

"You don't see many "Dinner Jackets" at lunchtime do you ????

Precisely hahahaha my mum said this!

Great minds and all that

Don't see many dinner ladies at tea time either

Do you think it's a class thing or a regional thing....knowing I'm opening a massive can of worms here....no offence to anyone peace & love to all!!!

Or a bit of both??

I think its an intelligence thing

The higher IQ'd say dinner then tea

end of

no supper though

Where do you stand on Tiffin

Isn't that just pudding?"

It can be a light in between meal, and also a chocolate, biscuits, syrup fridge cake!
