Given a harder time than others ?
Marcus r Ashford through on goal last night one on one missed by two yards ...if that would have been sterling there'd by a public slaughtering ..
Calls for him to be dropped etc ..
Why does sterling get such a hard time..?

Yes he does in my opinion,he will always shine better playing for city. Just look at the players he's got around at club level. Perhaps if England learnt to pass the ball quicker, instead of waiting while all of the defenders are set in place before passing the ball,we may see an improvement. |

"That was not a sham playing to come second by either team. Playing Colombia in the next round is not the easier option
But then look at the quarter finals and semi finals "
Do you ever wonder if you're on a never ending loop?
It's like being on the circle line and not realising it's just going round and fucking round?
Sterling is crap in an England shirt.
They didn't really want to win last night.
It was good to see others in the squad get a run out and be given a chance to shine. Unfortunately most of them didn't. |

In Eng we are not happy unless we are slating one of our players and it goes back years, Barnes Waddle both the same.
Eng play a different style to city although a similar system. City look to overpower teams with fast crisp passing. Eng prefer a slower type of build up. For me Sterling is an instinctive player, given time he struggles.
In saying all of that I would still start him as I feel between him and Rashford coming of the bench Rashford is the more dangerous option |

The only thing I can think of from my perspective is that he has all the talent to be a world class player, but just lacks the killer instinct in front of goal, and his decision making is often suspect. His close control and dribbling are nigh on amazing, and his little tiki taka through balls are fantastic too(and long may he continue to play that way too).
Just...Put the ball in the BLOODY NET Raheem..!!! |

Dam that bloody defender for clearing the ball off of the line. |

Probably Switzerland who haven't lost for ages and defend in such a way that we'll find it very hard to break them down (as Brazil did) follwed by Spain or Croatia (who in my opinion have looked the best team so far). Not easy at all. |

Southgate has to put on Sterling, he's a proven club player and goal scorer. While he has found his mojo with the England squad, he needs to be given the opportunity to prove himself. I'd like to see him brough on in the last 30 minutes of the Columbia game if we haven't had any good chances, as he may make the difference |

But we don't want a club player, we want an England international.
He really hasn't found his mono though.
How many more opportunities to prove himself does he he need?
He could be a good 20 minutes to go, scare them into a mistake with your pace kind of player though. |

Probably Switzerland who haven't lost for ages and defend in such a way that we'll find it very hard to break them down (as Brazil did) follwed by Spain or Croatia (who in my opinion have looked the best team so far). Not easy at all. "
Fundamentally Switzerland are a country with 10 people and a big ball of cheese who haven't ever been past the quarter finals and last did so in 1954. |

Surely they have 11 people?
Unless they're putting the big ball of cheese in goal...... |

I think they give out honary passports in world cup years just to make up 23 players |

Of course, daft of me not to have thought of that. |

Either way they held Favourites Brazil and beat a good Serbia team, we haven't got a competitive result against a good team for years now. I want us to do well, but this good side of the draw thing is a myth. |
