Folk who are dyslexic understand the contextual differences of the different spellings, but they can't always determine that they have written the wrong one, due to the letters jumping around in the word in their visual field.
And sometimes I think folk misspell on purpose as an eye-catcher for those whose eyes zone in on such things. Like when markets have signs saying 'juicey oranges'.
Juicy gets me every time.

Yes! The good old roving apostrophe, as another member mentioned. If it gets someone's attention then it has done the job.
I am a fully paid up member of the Grammar Police, but what the hell, as long us yew cnu wet wiz bean sed. Formal English is easier, simply as it's harder to misconstrue. Takes a bit longer to type... |
