I'm not claiming to be Oscar Wilde or even Gyles Brandreth but do other people find it difficult to believe the ridiculous spelling and grammar mistakes that are posted here?
In the age of spellcheck, it's even more ridiculous, there are some people that can't spell even basic words of their own language.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who finds this difficult to comprehend... |

I always try to take care with spelling and grammar. Unfortunately, the gremlin living in my phone often decides that other words are more appropriate and haphazardly changes words the instant I press the post button.
I'd love the phone version of Dobby the House Elf but I've got
Slasher the Word Eater instead!

"Bad spelling & poor grammar I can abide, as long as I can understand it then all's good. Text speak on the other hand.....
Profiles that read like war & peace, but have hardly any full stops, spaces between sentences and are just one continuous paragraph just give me a headache "
Copy & pasted from the thread I posted on 2 days ago

If the difference between their, there and they’re turn you on along with too or to, then SPAG will be important.
Personally I’ll stick to getting my jollies off with real people. |

"Your.
I wasn't criticising an individual, but surely, if you've spent 30 or 40 years reading, writing and speaking the same language, you'd expect to get most of the spelling correct. "
This may be why you’ve been on Fab over a year and not had a verification...... |

" but what does it matter. If its important you can block profiles and skip past it in the forums. Im not sure what point there is to complaining about it |

Your probably right. But I don't worry enough about it to feel the need to start a thread about it. If I can read it, I'll fill in the blanks, or mentally correct the mistakes as I read. No dramas really. |

We don't know the conditions that someone is writing within - including their background. English isn't the primary language for many and there are also many others who have dyslexia, potentially tired eyes, poor lighting and a host of other criteria that will affect spelling. Tiny screens, tired eyes and at the end of the day is also not a great recipe for pleasing some of the viewers.
If you can understand what someone's communicating, then you're fine. If you prefer to filter people based on spelling or grammar - go ahead.
