Under the Duvet

Just applied Sun cream and the smell has just taken me right back to my last holiday.

What smells transport you?

Bizarrely for me, it’s stardrops cleaning fluid.

Reminds me of visiting my great grandparents house.

Smells are one of the biggest triggers of memories so sometimes I get little flashes as I go about my day, some good, some not so good

The smell of peat reminds me of Ireland...cutting the turf, stacking and drying, then bringing it back to the shed for winter

Liquid latex. Reminds me of my childhood dog. She has mouth problems due to her breed which made her mouth smell like liquid latex (we tried to keep on top of it). But I find the smell comforting now

A world all of his own

Tinned ham. We always used to have it as kids with salads.

Whenever I make a salad at home now, it still has to be tinned ham even though my local supermarket has a great deli.

When I go swimming and I smell the chlorine in the pool. Instantly transports me right back to being 9 or 10 years old, all those endless swimming lessons, chicken soup out of the vending machine afterwards, verruca socks and having to wash the chlorine out of my hair! Takes me right back every time. Good memories though

Wood chip on a warm summers day reminds me of New England. I lived amongst the forests there and it was lovely

Haha we used to go there too! The excitement of going over the bridge to the island with the dog hanging her head out the car window!

We knew we were almost there when we crossed the bridge. They've built a road across now.

I used to love walking along the cliffs.

The smell that a Greenhouse has when you’re growing tomatoes. It reminds me of my Grampy.

Miss Dior and Dioressence remind me of my mum, even though she’s not worn those scents since i was in Primary School.

The smell of pouch tobacco reminds me of my first serious boyfriend who used to smoke roll ups.

When I smell metal or tires. It brings me back to my dads garage. My brothers would fix them and would be playing in the cars and told now and again to rev the engine

Whenever I smell asphalt, I think of Maureen.

That's the last sensation I had, before I blacked out: the thick smell of asphalt. And the first thing I saw when I woke up was her face.

She said she'd fix my bike. Free. No strings attached.

I should have known then that things are never that simple. Yeah, when I think of Maureen I think of two things: asphalt... and trouble.
