I've had a couple of people on the forums say that my location name is racist, which confused me a bit so I googled it - apparently "Bongobongo Land" is the offensive one. My location is named after a movie I had a bit-part in (mostly because no-one else they could find in time could speak any Swahili). "Bongo" is also a colloquial name for booty, of which I'm proud to say I have quite a fulsome one, so "bigbongoboy from Bongoland" sounded quite acceptable to my ears.
Do you think I should:-
A) change username and location name
B) just change bongoland
C) keep it as it is and ignore the idiots that think they know better
E) what happened to D
or D) ah, there it is |

"F) Do whatever you want. It's your profile. If people are offended then so be it. If them being offended bothers you then change it."
English isn't my first language - I speak it well enough (I think!) but some of the nuances escape me. I just didn't know whether it was actually offensive or not! |
