I’ve done everything I can find online and now I’m stumped. Main things to try were resetting location settings and checking I have space and turning it off and on

Now realise I can’t save to it other than taking a live photo as well.

Doing my head in - anyone got any idea?!

Thanks

Have you tried a hard reset? I believe it’s hold down power and home button together until it powers off, but that’s only up to iPhone 6 if newer then check online how to hard reset it

Thanks! Yes done that - it’s volume down plus power on a 7.

Samsung... Eurghhh

Electronics that break a day after warranty, and have more bugs and hacks than a 14 year old using lime wire in the early 00’s

I’ll stick to Apple and iOS

Have you had a peep at Macworld?

They have a lot of in depth troubleshooting on there x

here

Check:

Settings; Privacy; Photos

You should see list of apps which can either have access (read/write) or not (Never)

Are they really notorious for that though?

And presumably Samsung’s are notorious for never, ever, having any issues at all, ever?

The Privacy settings mentioned above are a good bet. Or General Restrictions and make sure Camera is set to on.

Or try adding a photo to a stock app like Contacts to see if that can force the issue.

You may wish to try the below.

1) Settings - General - restrictions - check it is off.

Or

2) Settings - Privacy - Photos - (enable which apps you want to allow access to photos)

And

3) Settings - Privacy - Camera - (enable which apps you want to allow access to camera)

Hope that helps.

Maybe I had that restrictions thing the wrong way round in that case. Maybe it’s set to On by default, but can be overridden on a per app basis.

Goto settings, general, reset, reset location and privacy, enter your password. Login to instergram or another photo taking app and take a photo and follow prompts to allow access to your camera and photos
