Right then... I need a book or 2

"John le Carré."
Definitely. Especially the earlier books. Make sure to read them in the correct order.
Colin Dexter with the Inspector Morse series. These can be purchased in compendium form with two or three full length stories in one publication.
Robert Crais with the Elvis Cole series.
Michael Connelly with the Harry Bosch series. Again, read in the correct order. Stories often refer to cases, characters and relationships from previous stories. Start with "the black echo"
Happy reading. |

Not quite a thriller, but I recently read Lionel Asbo by Martin Amis. Funny, scarf characters, amd some terrifying dogs. Not quite politically correct, but I think that's the point. You'll be shaking your head at what is depicted.. |

What about something like James Elroy? (Wrote LA Confidential). He did an amazing trilogy set around the assassination of JFK that interweaved real and fictional characters. Really unique writing style that draws you right in. American Tabloid is the first on and is fantastic. |

"Paul Cleave books if you like characters that are not all good or all bad!"
I like characters with vices. Actually those without wouldn’t really make for a good read! |

"That’s so weird. I just said this on kik.
Mine are girly books... all about historical sex. "
As in Romaticism or Factual... like what sex was like in Victorian times? |

If you like Roy Grace you should try Tom Thorne too - similar but different enough to make them just as worth reading
Mind you both series I'd recommend reading from the start as there are references to prior books dotted in there |
