Only piece of advice I can give you, is to make absolutely sure you like it.

Apart from that, fuck what everyone else thinks.

Oh, and make sure you go to some one who knows what he's doing. Dont want to get an infection

I’ve got two. First one I had nearly 20 years ago. Must have looked at the design for over a year, before I had it done. Honestly I’ve never regretted it. 2nd one I had done was few years ago. Rushed my decision and an ex has the same one in a different place. Will get it added to at some point to make it different.

You’ve made a gender specific assumption. It’s 2018 man, you can’t do that anymore. What if someone, not taking the piss, had noticed?

I've booked a press conference to issue an apology as soon as possible. I need to get on top of this before it blows up

Make sure you want it. I toyed with having one for ages. Once i made up my mind and was sure of design and location jumped straight in.

Think how it will look in 20 years time and also can i look at that everyday in the mirror and not regret it

Pros: If it's what you really, really want, and it's carried out by a decent tattooist, then hopefully you will have something that will forever be with you and won't be displeasing whenever you catch sight of it.

Cons:If you don't like it, you can't rub off a skin sticker mate!

A good tattoo artist isn't necessarily an expensive one though. I've seen some shit work done by someone charging the earth. Just make sure you've seen examples of their work.

Double check the artist's design before it goes on for any spelling errors

Seems from what you're saying you've already decided you're having the tattoo it's just the who you haven't chosen..

Me I've no tattoos .. no interest in having one, my opinion, there's nothing that ink will do to improve the natural beauty of anyone..

I think tattoos have come a long way and get the recognition they deserve now. You see some stuff on Pinterest that looks amazing.

I’ve been thinking about getting a small one, but haven’t yet...

Don't do it. If you think that the opinion of random people on a swinger's site should be a factor in getting a tattoo you probably don't want one

Tattoos are a personal thing. If you want one go for it. I just had latest one done yesterday and I travel almost 2 hours to get mine done as I wanted a particular artist to do it (female I must add ) just make sure you research the artist well before hand look at plenty of their work and get recommendations

Also this. My tattooist is really reasonable I've told people what mine cost and they were surprised how cheap for the skill of her work really

"What does it mean to you OP? Sounds like an off the shelf idea??

OP asked us for our opinion on what sounded like an ‘off the shelf’ design to me. My opinion is that as tattoos are for life not just for Christmas that he best make up his own mind about whether to have it done and what to have done. Wouldn’t it feel better if you knew your permanent artwork was truly unique?

Personally, I wouldn’t expect you or any other fabster here to have an opinion on what tattoo I have done next, that’s all, nothing more. I’m wondering if the OP feels the same?

A good saying is ( A tattoo is for life not just for Christmas ) .. Think very carefully about what you are going to have and what your budget is .. I have spent a fair few quid on tattoos and had a few bits covered up over the years. Use a good reputable tattoo artist and have one done bespoke that is drawn on to you rather than a stencil like I had many moons ago .. At the end of the day it's your choice.

I don’t quite get this whole idea that a 1 hour tattoo needs a 4 hour backstory to it.

I blame the influx of those American tattoo shows a few years back

If you like it, go for it! I’ve got around 30 hours of tattooing, probably only around 5 hours or so actually has personal meanings behind them

everything needs a back story and I've no idea why?
