Any OU students about ?

I’ve decided to take the plunge and apply - doing an open degree with my first two modules being beginners Spanish and beginners Italian

Any tips on how to deal with the workload, assessments, things like that ?

I'm starting my second year in october, environmental management.

You'll have an online schedule which will tell you what you'll be doing each week. Some weeks have been just text book reading, others have included visual and audio material to watch/listen to.

It starts of easing you in so you won't be overwhelmed right at the start, and the tma's got progressively more than difficult as the year went.

You'll have half terms which I used for trying to get slightly in front off my workload as I work full time and have a very young daughter.

It's tricky, but you'll find your own routine as the weeks progress.

I've just come to the end of my OU journey.. i should hopefully be graduating with a BA (Hons) in art history in late summer

You have to be a bit tunnel visioned to stay focussed..

Try and keep away from here during tma time as fab is a time thief lol

But good luck, im sure you will enjoy it

Fantastic news. I’ve been with OU since 2014. It’s a hard slog once Level 1 is done with but if you can organise and prioritise it’s doable. My advice is try and get to tutorials and day schools where you can. The face to face really helps.

Good luck!

Well done you. I hope you have a wonderful graduation day.

I’ve been accepted to uni proper to finish my course. I’ve loved OU but need to be around other folks now. Been flying solo far too long.
