Slough Windsor ish

Noooo.... Not faking THAT

Fake tans

I'm naturally quite fair skinned and as such usually need to use a fairly high SPF sun cream to avoid burning. We are of to Spain in a little over a month and I'd really like to go a shade or two more tanned than I am right now. I avoid skirts and shorts at the moment as my legs are dazzling white!

So ladies, I've just sent off for SkinnyTan... Anyone tried it? I've read the reviews and it seems to be the most consistently 'good' natural looking tan...

What do you use?

Any fake tan disasters?

Skinnytan is ok but I found that it wears off really patchy which can look horrible. The best tan I've found is Superdrugs own in the pink bottles & it can be layered up & it's cheap ££

I’m not much of a fake tanner, my freckles give me a bit of colour

But to make myself look less blue when I’ve had a special occasion, I’ve found the St Tropez in shower lotion reasonably fool proof (as long as you exfoliate and moisturise). It’s definitely helped my legs look less translucent, but not streaky Oompa Loompa orange either!

Oompah loompah orange is not a look I'm going for

My biggest concern is matching face to body... I have a friend who uses St Tropez and gets a lovely but slightly dark tan all over except her face which looks ghostly white by comparison!

Exactly.... I'd have a slight tan by now if Kestrels were still there! We are going to Benalmadena 25th July for 10 days... Where are you going?

If I remember rightly, the shower one comes in different shades, I got the light.

My friend is a huge fake tan fan and goes for the all over spray tan. She can be quite orange. She’s shopping in London today and text me to say she’s bought a dress and to guess what colour (blue, always blue). I text back “Orange? To match your face?” She’ll kill me tomorrow

south west

Best tan I’ve used is St Moritz from wilkos/ B&M.

Purchase in mousse form and use a mitt. If you’re pale start off with the medium colour

This would be me in Spain this year without faking it

I'm concerned I'll get on the beach and Greenpeace will show up and start sponging me down and try to roll me into the sea

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I was just about the start a thread with the same title, but a different subject.

I have no fake tan advice, for obvious reasons, so I'll back out slowly.

I once tried fake tan on my legs and they went radioactive orange. Never tried it since.

I'd have to do my whole body and really can't be arsed. Orange legs and white body isn't as sexy as it sounds.

My favourite it St Tropez but it's really expensive for how often I use it so I use St Moritz which is cheap as chips. Use a surgical glove under your tan mitt so you don't get brown fingers and stick a paddle brush or bottle of shampoo in your mitt to do the middle of your back x

I don't really fake tan. My daughter does though. She uses the St Tropez. It looks really good. Because a fake tan can make the face look patchy, she usually buys a darker shade 12 hour foundation. It works really well
