Why do so many people say "winks will be ignored"? I thought the point of a wink was that it was an expression of interest. If you wink at someone and they like the look.of you or cant to know more then they wink back. At that point you start a message exchange. |

i have nothing against winks, but they are at the bottom of my todo list. it can take me weeks before i go through them all, check out the profiles and decide if i want to wink back. i try to do it every so often but by the time i've checked mail and had a giggle over the forums it gets left for another time. |

some people consider them to be lazy... all it shows is that you have managed to hit a button... does show that you have actually read and understood what some people are after...... |

i dont like winks because i never know if someones really interested in me when they send one
so many men just go thro the site and wink every woman on here to increase their chances of getting a reply
where as if someone mails you with a message that shows they have read your profile it show they have a real interest in you as an individual rather than just cause your a woman
i dont really want to be messaging a man whos winked me who cant even remember who i am because he send out so many |

Assuming everyone wants to check who has been winking.
If someone says 'winks will be ignored' it's just letting people know they don't check them.
I don't think I have it on my profile... but I don't bother regularly checking mine either. |

I always respond to winks, some people don't,
I think you're going to have to message at some point, so you might as well message from the start... I think a message gives you a chance to show your personality, you can express more in those words, a wink shows I've pressed a button,.... |
