So today I receive this message of my fwb

I need to put drinks back to the 29th. It will just work better. Sorry x

Bear in mind these are my birthday drinks (this Friday) and he assured me he would not cancel when the arrangement was made end of May.

Really don't know how to respond what to say. I am disappointed yet don't want to be the crazy bitch

Any ideas?

No dramas.

The date doesn't work for you, let's get our diaries out and find another mutually acceptable date.

Isn't the point of FWB that there's no commitments?

Don't play games.... Just tell him you're disappointed and that if you're free the 29th then you can do something.

FWB is a casual thing. How do you react when friends you're not fucking cancel plans?

And the point of doing this would be?

All you're doing is coming across as a game player. He's been upfront with you and told you on plenty of time for you to arrange something else.

You risk him walking away from a drama llama doing this type of thing.

So like I say, tell him you're disappointed but don't move things to see him on the 29th (unless you really want to but don't hold the fact you did against him).

I've had my time of being a drama queen etc and it's never gotten me anywhere.

Likewise when I was younger I was drama queen stalker all sorts, got me no where!

Thank you

Was that his messages? Literally? It's a bit blunt isn't it?

I'd be miffed but I'd do my hardest to make other arrangements and I wouldn't commit to the 29th either.

He'd made a date though - reliability is not the same as a relationship commitment.

He's given you notice, he's apologised and he's suggested another date.

I can understand you are disappointed but I don't think he's done anything horrendous here.

He's a FWB, keep it in perspective.

My response would be something along the lines of "That's a shame, thanks for letting me know, I'll get back to your about the 29th"

And then when you've got over your nose being put out of joint you can decide whether the new date works for you or suggest another.

Thank you everyone for the advice much appreciated.

Minnie the Minx, I quoted you and sent 'That's a shame, thanks for letting me know. I'll get back to you about the 29th'

He has read it but not replied. I'm going to go off make plans for this Friday, celebrate my birthday on Sat and have a wonderful weekend

Wonder if I can get an IOW ticket, considering my bestie is there for my birthday

Men who needs them!

Xx

Exactly. It's not the fact that he's cancelled, that's no big deal, it's the fact he's assumed she'll just make herself free on the date that suits him. There's no question there, he just throws a statement at her.

Beat me to it.

Commitment; doing the thing you said you were going to do, long after the mood you said it in has left you.

I agree with this. It's a blunt message and assuming the new date will be fine. It should be more of a 'sorry, can we re-arrange for this new date?'
