Good morning you beautiful people!
Last night I had to take amitriptyline for my back. I was already tired so though brilliant, I’ll sleep well!
But nope. The opposite. I dosed on and off from half past nine until one am, was awake for two and a half hours, and woke up at 6am.
I start work in 50 minutes. I then have a training course, then back in work at 2.45pm.
HOW DO I STAY AWAKE?
I don’t like coffee, so that is out of the question. I know fine well I will start to nod off at this training course; how can I prevent this? |

"Eat an apple and drink plenty of water
Emphasis on 'plenty'
The constantly full bladder discomfort should keep you awake easily enough."
Exactly, hard to sleep when you constantly need a piss |

You could borrow my small person, she does an amazing job of keeping one awake |

I have no advice but lots of empathy. I also took pain meds and hoped that would help sleep as well as making me less sore, but not so.
I’m shattered now, feel awful and I still hurt. Loads of builders tea for me today.
I hope the day passes quick and you get an early night x |

I really must recommend that you keep away from the energy drinks.
They really are bad for you.
All of the sportsmen that you see having heart attacks on the pitch are due to these.
Any existing heart precondition can magnified using these |

Update; survived the first shift at work. Ate a toasted bagel drenched in butter, some mango and a pear. Drank lots of water and pineapple juice. In my car and want to snooze |

Dont sit anywhere to warm and comfy. Open the windows or blast some music. Or just prop yourself up somewhere vaguely uncomfortable x |

I’ve got a manual handling course at 10am so hopefully I’ll be up moving a lot during that. If it’s just sitting and taking notes there’s a 99% chance I will nod off. Can’t even nap when I get back home because I’ll need to get lunch then get my bus back to work. Yay! |

Keep your back straight.
Bend at the knees not the back.
Don't overreach.
Only lift what you can handle.
There you go, manual handling training complete and in a nutshell.
You can go to bed with my permission. |

"Tell them you have a form of Tourette’s and if you slap yourself occasionally they’re not to be alarmed. Then call him a cunt and go back to your seat looking at him apologetically "

"Update; training course finished an hour early. I may have time for a nap. Feeling blessed
I’m sitting in a car park between visits and considering a power nap too!"
Have one! Although, I feel worse for mine |

Urgh, I hate that. Had to be the right duration to give you a wee boost but not enough to make you more tired. I’m rubbish at getting the balance right |

Last update; I have survived the day. I am exhausted and spent most of my afternoon moving the classroom about, but it’s kept me busy. God bless you all |
