Now I'm not one to usually moan....But how do people feel about this site having had a time waster being reported having some kind of punishment, each case on merit of course.
Only we had arranged a meet with a single male who had contacted us first, verified 8 times. Arranged a date about 1 month in the future and had the odd mail to confirm. The night before the male confirms via pm and all is good. On the night in question after £60 in babysitting he never logs on to give address or to tell us he can't make it. What a let down. I shall not name him unless you want me to but this takes all the fun out of swinging.  |

Total mystery. Supposedly the site is full of guys that are keen to meet and post snotty messages or threads about not even getting a reply.
Then the other side of the coin, women and couples, us included, have tried in earnest to meet single guys, and often fail.

Don't name unless you want a holiday and of course naming is open to abuse.
The best you can do is report and block and hope for a better experience next time.

No...he arranged it to be at his. Even nailed to check we were still ok the night before to which we replied yes and the address was to be forwarded next day ... then silence... why confirm ? Could of just cancelled an hour before... couldn't he ? |

Ok so perhaps my "His loss" comment wasn't worded the best.
What I was trying to express was the fact that he was a complete knob for not turning up to meet a fantastic looking couple. Who had gone to a lot of effort. |

No...he arranged it to be at his. Even nailed to check we were still ok the night before to which we replied yes and the address was to be forwarded next day ... then silence... why confirm ? Could of just cancelled an hour before... couldn't he ?"
Could have, but i would have said if i don't receive the address by xx time I will assume the meeting is off.

Agreed. I wouldn't book a sitter until the day before when it is all definitely confirmed. It's bad but you can't rely on a guy arranging a date weeks in advance. |

I’ve had daytime meets cancelled when I’ve arranged a days childcare, which isn’t cheap, and once booked in then you are charged full rates whether you cancel or not. It’s been for what appear to be genuine reasons, but it is a bit annoying. Same has happened with a hotel meet.
Like you say, the other person has lost nothing, but it’s such a waste of cash, especially if it’s too late to arrange something with someone else. |

We did that and said address by 7pm but alas he had already decided I think that he was gonna vanish. But perhaps a day earlier might be an idea next time. |

If it has then change your selection criteria... to do the same things over and over again and expect a different result is according to Einstein a definition of insanity..
If this is a first time then your normal selection process must be pretty good.. refine it if possible to avoid a recurrence. |

Can I ask for those of you who have had timewasters - is there ever any feeling with these people, however small, that they might be timewasters?
I've had a couple and deep down I felt they might not show up. This last happened last week. The guy was hot and I was horny but I had a funny feeling he was a timewaster.
Sure enough, he claimed his phone battery had died and his van had broken down. Oddly, my messages asking if we could move the time back by half an hour were delivered to his "dead" phone. |

I think you have just answered your own question, gut feelings do matter.
From our ow experience, best have a plan b, meet somewhere that can provide a secondary source of entertainment. You'll still be smarting, but not entirely a wasted night.
Another example of why my blocked counter idea in the "I wish" thread could be useful.

Sorry to say it but these days it’s the norm on here We just always have a plan b which is a club . There seem some on here who arrange 3 meets and if they find no one lets them down they make some excuse to the other two. Some don’t even try to hide the verifications from that night |

These sorts of things make me mad, there are loads of us genuine nice guys on here. Not only does it make it harder for us but it really spoils it for everyone. I've cancelled a meet but with 24 hours notice as it's only polite and life does get in the way of play sometimes but to just ghost you. Grrr |

So you got stood up, well bigger fool you for paying for a babysitter and buying alcohol when the guy hadn't even given you his address
We only have one side of the story here, but one month is a long way in advance to arrange a meet. Most likely the man had gone off the idea or found someone else for sex or even got an FWB or married. But didn't like to say.
Maybe you need to change the way you arrange meets.
And no Fab admin don't need to investigate this type of thing, frankly this is a free/cheap subscriptions site and who do you think is going to read through all the messages to decide punishment for your "time wasters"?

I knew how you meant it but it's still not his loss and it never is the loss of the person doing the standing up. If they thought the person or persons they were meeting were so fantastic they wouldn't stand them up. |

"Can I ask for those of you who have had timewasters - is there ever any feeling with these people, however small, that they might be timewasters?
I've had a couple and deep down I felt they might not show up. This last happened last week. The guy was hot and I was horny but I had a funny feeling he was a timewaster.
Sure enough, he claimed his phone battery had died and his van had broken down. Oddly, my messages asking if we could move the time back by half an hour were delivered to his "dead" phone. "

Not only £60 but got a parking ticket when out buying some drink in preparation to.
You really can't hold him responsible for your parking.
Er...yeah...! I think you have missed the point but actually I can blame him for that as I wouldn't have been there buying alcohol to take round if he'd had cancelled. But thanks for your imput

So you got stood up, well bigger fool you for paying for a babysitter and buying alcohol when the guy hadn't even given you his address
We only have one side of the story here, but one month is a long way in advance to arrange a meet. Most likely the man had gone off the idea or found someone else for sex or even got an FWB or married. But didn't like to say.
Maybe you need to change the way you arrange meets.
And no Fab admin don't need to investigate this type of thing, frankly this is a free/cheap subscriptions site and who do you think is going to read through all the messages to decide punishment for your "time wasters"?

Only we had arranged a meet with a single male who had contacted us first, verified 8 times. Arranged a date about 1 month in the future and had the odd mail to confirm. The night before the male confirms via pm and all is good. On the night in question after £60 in babysitting he never logs on to give address or to tell us he can't make it. What a let down. I shall not name him unless you want me to but this takes all the fun out of swinging.
As many people have said before , it would be completely open to abuse.
If you report this guy, he might say he did turn up, didn't fancy you and left and you are now reporting him out of spite.
How would fabs know who is telling the truth?
True..however they can review the messaging and surely on merit decide.. he contacted us and the invite was to his so one would think the attraction was there.
Surely that will only show that a meeting was arranged, not that he didn't turn up.
No...he arranged it to be at his. Even nailed to check we were still ok the night before to which we replied yes and the address was to be forwarded next day ... then silence... why confirm ? Could of just cancelled an hour before... couldn't he ?"

That is why I will only meet at clubs. Far too many timewasters..and time is precious.
It also sorts the genuine people out who actually do want to meet up and play.

It's for all of our benefit that we report users who behave inappropriately, including for the benefit of fab. The site is free and relies on users to act as unofficial policing, reporting anything that is wrong in your opinion, against site rules or very suspicious.
Don't worry about starting a war of blame, you are just passing the information as you know it, to the site. They have more information on users and can establish inappropriate behavioral patterns.
Never stoop down to the levels of wrongdoers in any way. Once you know a profile is wrong for you, simply leave it behind you. Learn and decide what you will definitely do differently in future - and then stick to it. |

This is pretty much our stance now, club meetings all the way, doing £100 for a night out, does require us at least being able to speak to people. We don't take anything for granted, least of all people, for better or for worse, there's many reasons why some won't turn up. |

Always a shame to feel let down , you get all excited at the thought of a simple coffee and donut social after months of not meeting.
Spruce up a bit and wait for ‘the message ... nothing!
