I know that there are lots of dads celebrating their special day.

But please spare a thought for those who have lost their dads, or who have lost their children or babies. Hugs to us all xx

My Dad died 20 years ago now. I miss him deeply and tend to stay off Facebook on days like this.

Happy Father’s Day everyone. Squeeze your pops today and make sure you tell him he’s ace

Or indeed those Dads who have children they have no contact with.. must be a painfully heart wrenching day for them too.

Herts

25 years ago I was due to emigrate to New Zealand, all the paperwork was in order and house sale going through. Then my mother had to have a pacemaker and very soon afterwards my father was diagnosed with cancer. The day he was formally told, he beconned me to his hosputal bedside and said " Do not change your plans". A few months later I flew and he soon after passed away. I'll never, ever forget that day nor him. Love, respect and hugs to all who have lost their Father.

I lost my Dad 23 years ago, I was 5 months pregnant and my last words to him were 'I have news, will tell you Saturday'

He died the next morning, I got to tell him my news, not in the way I hoped but I told him nonetheless.

He was only 50 as well so should of seen his Grandsons grow up.

When my youngest was born it was bittersweet, the grief, the joy the anger that he should of been there to see his Grandson.

2 years of counselling later, I was able to accept it. 23 years later the grief can sometimes still be as raw as it was then.

The pain never goes away. Lost my dad 2 years ago and it doesn’t get easier, it gets harder.

Traffic land

This is my third Father’s Day without mine and there is a mixture of thoughts and emotions. I’ve spent a lovely time this morning reminiscing with my brother’s over whatsapp and if anything, we all inherited his rather dark sense of humour

Hugs to anyone that needs them, whatever your circumstance today x

Four months, so first Father's Day without...

Still seems a bit unreal, not sure that'll ever change. Will be raising a glass later to the legend that was my Dad, love & miss you forever xx

Lost my father a few years ago.

I'd happily swap places to save the sadness that my sister still suffers.....

I feel quite tearful today and he's been gone 27 years I think. I'm spring cleaning my upstairs spare rooms and just noticed the paper he put up on one of the bedroom ceilings.

He was a good dad.
