Do you find that so much of social media is written by insincere ghost writers? Or is it just me being a grumpy cunt?
I can spot them a mile away due to their formulaic writing, artificial sentence structure and un-natural choice of words. I try to work out who these people are and how they benefit for clogging up the internet with shit?
LinkedIn is full off "i was interviewing an *insert candidate with less desirable characteristic* when i realised *insert unexpected result* and that made me realise..."
Or Quora with crap like "when i was young *insert very rare tragic event* happened to me. But i wouldn't let it beat me, wouldn't let it keep me down. Today i *insert virtue signalling activity* to help people that suffered the same trauma i did"
These people are like the 2018 version of fucking cold callers.

I was reading the Lounge Forum threads on FabSwingers when I read a post by BrokenBrilliance citing an aspect of living in today’s world that provided them with mild irritation. I realised that it was yet another cry for help into the ether by them, and they were veritably in need of a virtual hug to show them fellowship and inclusion. I provided that virtual hug and informed them that these feelings will pass and they are worthwhile and loved by us all. Hug. |

Thank you. I guess I'm just seeking confirmation that I'm not the only one who notices this? Their shitty posts get thousands of likes / upvotes or whatever for stories that blatantly never happened to them. I wonder how many of those likes were just from bots that. It's hard to know what's real on the interweb these days. The internet used to be so cool but now it's just an extension of the corporate world. It changed man. |
