Got a few things on my mind that are dragging me down tonight so I've hatched a plan to do some things tomorrow that i know will make me feel good. Shopping, visiting family, charity walk at midnight, maybe some sex if we can squeeze it in

What things do you do to brighten yourself up when you're feeling Low?

Music. Books (and audiobooks if I can’t open eyes). Radio. Podcasts. Cooking. Lists. Drawing. Gardening. Friends (heh heh “doing” friends!) Wank. Hug a dog. Sing badly. Dance. Outside air. Being near the sea. Swimming. Walk. Sleep. Candle-lit bath.

I go for walks in the country or on The beach.

Sometimes I'll just go the gym and throw myself into a strenuous workout

I can’t remember the last time I felt low. I was probably a teenager.

That's s great idea OP, I admire your positivity when you're feeling low as it's not always easy.

I always go easy on myself if I'm feeling a bit 'meh' I will try to chat with my best friend, listen to some happy music, and eat chocolate. Oh..and arrange a Fab meet

Hope you enjoy your day tomorrow OP.

Write down what’s making you feel low and deal with them one by one, after that everything else will be even more enjoyable

In fact thinking about it, it was the long summer after my ‘O’ levels. I was low then and didn’t really have a good way of coping with it. Eventually it was resolved by creating a new set of friends and learning the guitar

Sorry you feel low OP and I hope things get better over the weekend!

I don’t really have a set ‘go-to’ pick-me-up to be honest but a nice walk in the country or trip to a beach can be nice to shit yourself away from your worries!

Enjoy your weekend!

Yes I can have real buzzes. And I have had sad, testing, scary moments. But I don’t spend much time feeling low, I tend to release the emotions quickly and return to an even keel. I can feel stressed but that generally spurs me into action until the feeling of stress goes. So I stay fairly content most of the time. Perhaps the only thing is having less patience when stressed. However deep breathing and some exercise sorts that out too

I think Estella has done quite a good, comprehensive list. I also go for a drive out in the countryside and sing along to some dire playlists. Hope you feel better soon.

Slough Windsor ish

I get away from all this and social media stuff... be kind to myself, chill a bit, get out for a stompy walk, go for a drive and sing really loudly with the radio, then come home to Cheffy and we cook dinner together and eat and I tell him how I am feeling, he tells me everthing is ok and usually it is by then.

I’m sorry that you’re feeling low OP but as others have said; it’s great that you’ve made plans to be more positive and move through it.

I’m still learning coping strategies and mechanisms for low mood but exercise really helps

This is how I'm feeling at the moment... very low, lacking confidence at work and anxious, I've also been on the edge of tearing up have at times and have felt this way for a few weeks without realising that i've changed.

Now I've had that realisation I need to adopt a few strategies and am looking to book an appointment with my doctor, in addition to trying to go easy, doing things that I enjoy.

I've cried more this week than I have in ten years so totally understand. Coming to terms with the bad stuff gradually and finding support in places I never expected to.

If you want a chat Hello, you know where I am ... Always ready to be a friend

(That goes for anyone suffering at the moment too)

It's funny as I didn't realise I was along that path until I heard a presentation run by the State of Mind charity.

Thank you to you and Chri5 for some kind words. I've always considered myself to be pretty resilient so it's been a bit alien for me.

One look at the sunny garden with it's plants and wildlife is enough to instantly bring me up.

I suffer with anxiety.. it can come on all of a sudden without warning. Fortunately I have two beautiful rescue staffies so I just take them for a long walk to clear my head

Op... do things that make you happy , it could be a fav film , a fav meal etc ,

Surround yourself with your loved ones too as you will prob be most comfy in and around them especially your partner.... talk things through and don’t keep thoughts bottled up

Great believer in motion relieves tension so if you have any physical hobby then get out and do them

Another technique I’ve found is useful is to distract the brain by learning something new... could be from a TV programme etc... as it’s new and interesting your brain focuses more on the subject therefore distracting any low thoughts entering your head.

Hope some of this helps guys x
