Every year, uppermill has a yanks weekend, to celebrate the fact that part of the film of the same name was shot around here.

With that in mind we decided this year to do a yanks bassed cocktail night the following weekend.

We always dress up appropriately for our cocktail nights, so I decided on an American airforce pilot.

Out of interest and to make.the costume as authentic as possible I have been doing some historical research into the subject. It has been an interesting project to create an authentic legend for the character, and I have learnt some stuff along the way

Here and There

My job requires me to be constantly learning new stuff. At the moment it’s AI and Deep Learning. Seldom a dull moment.

I started gaining an interest in both subjects after visiting Auschwitz 10 years ago, I was interested in the phycology of the Nazi’s and the prisoners and decided to start learning about the human mind, I also study body language and will hopefully study for a masters time permitting.

I've got a keen interest in World War 2 which came from my dads fascination with it. I went to Berlin last year and had a look around the former Gestapo headquarters, the site of the Fuhrer bunker and the Reichstag while there, really interesting.

I’m fascinated by the human body and what it can achieve. Forever studying anatomy & physiology. Biomechanics, movement etc. Alongside this I have a passion for nutrition . But I’m a personal trainer so it goes hand in hand with my job
