When we had little reprobates (cats) they used to bring in allsorts of wildlife, the mice, Coles, shrews and frogs we're always alive, the birds more often than not, rats we're always dead! Birds and frogs I would handle, but rodents alive ones anyway I'd suck up the Hoover and empty the cylinder over the hedge releasing them safely
I'm a bit of a pansy, hubby would Tupperware them and release them. |

Well, I got on with the hoovering and that meant the cat hid under the bed, when Hoppity (that was her name) came out a hop-skipping and a-jumping, back across the landing to run round and round my room again while I screamed for my (non-responsive) pussy to come get her!!
Luckily, Hoppity, the little shrew, was as short sighted as she was stupid and was finally caught in an upturned singapore noodle pot! She has been safely dispatched into a hedge down the lane 300yds away!! 
That's an hour or my life I'll never get back!!  |
