Where do people get stuff like that? I have been wondering how people come by prescription mary J especially when possession (with intention to supply) is a big deal.
Of course this is all academic and under no circumstances shall any post here be construed as an advert of any intent nor a statement of fact or fiction. |

There was only one prescription issued in the UK but the home office withdrew that last week. Hopefully with Canada legalizing recreational use a lot more studies will be carried out which will hopefully see out government follow suit. I won't hold my breath though |

Why won't they legalise it here? |

Depends on how wide you're going to throw the brackets. There's the recent use of CBD oil in vapes, which helps with pain and anxiety/depression. I've thought about trying it to see if it would help with my anxiety and depression, in conjunction with the SSRI I take |

They will eventually; there's lots of money to be made from it. |

Does the oil make people seem spaced out? I suppose antidepressants can do that to a person though. |

There's not enough known on the impact it will have socially, economically or on health issues. That's why what's happening in Canada is such a big deal. All these studies can get carried out and then fingers crossed we also legalise it |

Probably so. Though at the moment the government get 100's of millions in tax from the big pharmaceutical companies that seem to have a hold over the government. |

No they remove the THC from the oil which is the good ingredient |

No the medical stuff doesnt have the thc in that strength in it but because its still cannabis its still illegal here oh and as to your reply to me:
It was legal in the 60's - 70's but because some people got wise and over prescribed the goverment put it on the class list and banned it cos of the stuffy attitude back then now personally i think its big pharma companies that dont want it available cos its a natural alternative that works rather than their over priced fake made in a lab crap thats making them billions |

I don't think the social and economic impact is relevant in the case of the young lad that suffers from siezures, or his family. It obviously has immense health benefits for him and would improve the whole families lives. She got stopped bringing medicine into the country the other day and it was confiscated. Give it back to her or prescribe it here I think. |

I agree it's not relevant with this particular case but I'm meaning on a wider scale then these things need to be studied. Hopefully she'll have managed to source some in the UK for her son. It's terrible that there's a cure for these things but it's illegal to use it |

Because they have extracted the thc molecule, it can be sold legally. Hell, Holland and barrett are selling it now. Probably should be approached with caution, as with all medication |

It just seems so wrong to deny people in that situation something that improves quality of life. On a wider scale, especially if we're talking legalization for recreational use, perhaps more study is needed. However, the government did employ someone a few years ago to study this and when he came back with his results and the recommendation that it be decriminalised... they sacked him and a lot of effort was put into discrediting him. God knows what's going? |

Yeah, there was a realistic top 100 dangerous drugs on TV around that time too. Cannabis was one of the higher numbers, and alcohol was in the top ten.
He got the sack because he said that the reason it is kept illegal is political and has nothing to do with keeping the public safe. He's right though; I noticed that laws tend to come into play a set amount of time before an election. Slightly off topic, but I first noticed it with the mobile/driving ban; there was a spike in crime rates around the time, and the government Boasted about how crime had dropped off over six months, which when you looked at it, was roughly when the ban came into place. Same with drugs; make it illegal, then point at statistics as crime figures go from high to low, near an election, as people give a previously legal substance up due to it being too much hassle, therefore leading to less arrests due to said recently made illegal substance.
Also, if cannabis was completely legal, we probably wouldn't be going through this spice epidemic that is starting up |

The big companies probably havn't worked out a way to make maximum profits off it yet and screw everybody else. As soon as they do it will be legalised. |

It is not out of any concern for your mental/health.
Financial is the answer.
It would have a devastating consequence on the alcohol industries.
Many users dont drink, especially in the expensive clubs/pubs etc |

I buy cbd an it does not do anything like that. Thc is the part that gets you high an causes psychosis that has been taken out. Antidepressants have all sorts of unwanted side effects. As someone who reacts to most pharmaceutical drugs I recommend cbd. But don’t recommend cannibis with thc |

Snap, I'm so sensitive, I can't even take an aspirin without side effects. |

Why not here?
Because governments are frightened of what the Daily Mail will say. These media outlets run by billionaires largely control government policy and lives - including who may live and die, as with this boy. |

Psychosis in what way? Just while they are taking it or like all the time?
Thank you for all your patient answers. I'm clueless. Yes I realise I don't need to point this out, it's obvious. |

No it’s ok. I’ve read up an looked in to it. As I give my kids cbd. My friend is also a mental health nurse an most of the patients have some form of mental health condition from years of cannabis smoking. Most is super skunk now an a lot higher in thc. Some people are more pre disposed to a break down than others. Stop smoking it an some can heal, some the damage is done.
Same with alcohol years of lots of drink will damage the liver. Stop drinking it recovers. Depends on the damage done. Cbd has no known side effects yet. I’m sure like with most herbs there will be the odd thing it doesn’t mix well with |

You have to have the right genes for a psychotic episode to happen. Around 1 in 1000 have the schizophrenia genes, and heavy cannabis use can make it come to the surface as a permanent problem. Thing is though, that alcohol will do exactly the same thing |

The home office have allowed the boy in question to receive his medication. Great news for the family and for others who believe medicinal cannabis oil will help in their treatments |

There is already a medicine made from cannabis that is available legally in the UK. It is called sativex and is a mouth spray. It has had the phsycoactive part removed so users don't get high. It's only available on private prescription and not via the nhs so costs around £400 per month. We looked into it for my mum to treat her MS but the cost was prohibitive so she tried the "herb" instead.
What really sickens me is that normal, law abiding oap's have to break the law to get their medicine |

Totally. I'm probably incriminating myself with this; well, clearly I use. I also have wear and tear on my left knee joint/cap, which is basically the precursor to arthritis. I get a hell of a lot less issues if I am smoking something, than if I haven't for a long period of time. I'm not in agony with it yet, but it still really hurts, and there's been moments where I've felt my joint wobble a little bit. It's nice not to have to rely on pills that can take off stomach lining, to control pain |

No, CBD oil doesn't contain the THC component that you get in resin or green.

As a mental health nurse who works in a psychosis team i can tell you that you do not have a "schizolhrenia" gene. You can have a higher vulnrability to any mh issye IF you have a first degree relative who has one.
Please show me the evidence that there is a specific "gene" for schizophrenia. |
