Amazing workout if you do it correctly. I hated it at first, but it's like no other cardio on earth for sweat.
I've seen grown men crying after a spin class barely able to walk down the stairs. Always amusing when they've sauntered in, bragging how it will be a piece of piss whilst flexing their muscles!

Spin is great if you fancy really pushing yourself with group ambience and your legs can already handle some solid cycling.
If you don't use a bike, get some practice in first for a couple of weeks. In the class go at your own pace, so that you don't get after class pains as a deterrent to doing any more.
It's fun, you push yourself beyond what you would do alone and get a buzz from your achievement. |

Definitely worth the effort and whilst the instructor will push you hard, you can sort of go at your own pace.
If your gym does HIIT classes, give one of those a go - requires less time but completely destroys your body (in a good way). |

"I was in a spin class last week & the lady in front had the best bum ever "
Had a massive glass mirror in the studio we used to use for soon and I spent the entire 40 mins staring at the instructors arse.
Tbh, her arse made up for the fact she was a sadistic bitch who used to turn my resistance higher than anyone elses! |

"Do you think ladies know that blokes perv at them in the gym ??"
Absolutely. Very few fit ones at my previous gym to perv at tho and currently use work one where there's a distinct lack of eye candy as well. |

"Spinning is awesome, I absolutely love it. Go along, give it a go and see what you think."
Totally agree - love it when it's straight forward spinning; not a fan of doing strange things like one legged cycling or getting off the bike and doing a floor excise. |

"A lot depends on the effort you willing to put in and how heavy handed you are with the resistance knob. Its as brutal as you make it for yourself."
I used to do a mixed spin class in work. I always pushed harder than instructed (2 turns instead of 1 etc) but the instructor still came round and turned it further. Then you'd get a couple of right lazy fuckers going at 20% effort and she didn't bat an eyelid!
I love spin tho it's just an absolute twat when you're out of shape and you genuinely feel like you're going to die! |

I used to love spinning. I have that mentality though where I want to push my self to the max. Our spin bikes have the digital readouts, with a max resistance of 24.
I always start on 15 and then the lowest I'll drop is 18 if I'm getting tired. I usually try and keep in the 22/24 resistance range. |

Also if free time is an issuse you can always get a proper spinning bike at home. Youtube has a lot of spinning classes of all different types and durations. Not quite as good as a class with real people but very handy. Works well for me. |
