My best was a car I bought in 1978 as a 17yr old. Fiat 1500 Sedan
Column gear shift
front and rear bench seats dropped into double bed. Man that was a shagging machine. Terrible to drive but it had other great uses
Worst car I’ve owned 1988 Lada |

"I loved my bright green VW Beetle the most but the best car to drive was the MkII Golf GTi I had from new, it went like the clappers, even on the way to the scrap yard 13 years later! "
Another VW Beetle lover here!
Mine was rusty white, started first time and very reliable. Only downside was the heater and faulty windscreen washer valve which kept deflating the spare tyre. |

Probably my current one, a 10 plate ford focus, 1.6 zetec engine. It's fun to drive, smooth, can run on fumes and can shift when needed.
Close contender was a Citroen C3 Picasso. Loved that car. Medium sized but tons of room.
First car was a Citroen AX, P reg. 1.0 (well 995cc) back in 2004. Bodywork was a bag of garbage, but the engine was sound. Better still, I could get get bits for it from my local scrap yard for next to nothing! |

Nicest too drive and refinement was a S5. But my god it was boring.. “No Audi I don’t want a steering system that tightens up at speed to prevent over/understeer. I want hang the arse out fun”
Most scary was a Alfa 147 GTA. Man I’m hat thing ate through underwear but she always left you smiling
And now I’m a sedate cruiser in a 350z that I can’t part with for love nor money. Just ticks all the boxes and who’s worried about the radio still only playing Japanese stations when you hear the V6 thump |

I loved my first car, k reg Renault Clio auto. Went like the clappers but died.
My current car is ace. Ford Focus, cost a pretty penny last year but she's worth it. Been my constant companion for nearly 9 years. She's given me so much freedom to do as I please and has always been reliable.
I'll be devastated when she's no longer financially viable to keep on the road. |

Best cars I had were from new.
2002 BMW 320ci convertible
2008 Landrover Discovery 3
2010 BMW 530D
All though I have the new E class Merc at the moment which is quite good. The automatic parking is weird and too bloody slow. It’s like your nan is parking it.

I loved my little black Clio. Seriously, that car had attitude. Nobody else could get their head around its little quirks... like if you wanted the radio or heater on youhad to put the wipers on then put the radio or heater on then switch the wipers back off . It eventually gave up. It had stuckny me through thick and thin and even taken the brunt of a jealous fab female trashing the paintwork.
If it happened again now Im not sure what Id do, I quite like my racy red Corsa |

Had loads of different cars, vans jeeps and motorbikes. I've had a few 'best' ones. My needs change so does my best vehicle. Currently my best is the BMW engined Discovery. I loved my 3rd car which was a Citroën 2CV with a mod of Citroën GSA engine in it with 5 speed gear box. A wolf in lambs clothing! Best motorbike... I've had quite a few and it's got to be current Africa Twin. |

Undoubtedly a proton. It was so shit it was cool. My friends always used to rib me over it, which is always the sign of a good car. It was clearly designed in an era when cad software only dealt with angular polygons and not curvey nurbs. I used to say it was from the future... a very fucked up dystopian future |

My favourite car was my red Alfa Romeo 147 Selespeed. It was beautiful and when it wasn’t in the garage getting something fixed, was amazing to drive.
Required a new engine at 2 years old (thank for manufacturers warranty!) and every service cost ££££ but fuck me I loved it.
Broke my heart when I had to trade it in and get something more sensible when I got a job that involved a daily 160 mile commute. The petrol gauge used to drop in front my eyes! |

Between us we have had some beauts and some nails.
2CV was a fun thing.
Beach Buggy when you could drive them over the dunes and the beach,
7series BMW - so much equipment it was a spaceship
Boxster 3.2 s , people said hairdressers car but it handled brilliantly and was probably the most reliable car I’ve ever had.
Honda S800 hard top. Fantastic machine but my brother totalled it. They still race them in Japan
Nails included
Lancia Dedra from new , door locks fell off after 1 day.
Lancia Beta Coupe , brakes failed on motorway at 70!(your honour)(may have been slightly more)
Alfa 75 less said the better
Austin Montego (I was contractually obliged) hoses fell off leaving the forecourt (brand new) and the windscreen leaked
Orion Non Turbo diesel. I’m amazed they were allowed on the road. You couldn’t pull out into traffic it was dangerous

My first ever proper car a Fiat X1/9.

Best car? Hmm. I have owned many much loved, yet intrinsically unreliable little things which I purchased on aesthetics alone (silly Heels). I’ve also had a number of desperately dull company cars. Probably the best was a sporty little corsa ‘the pocket rocket’. Favourite though was definitely the Mini Cooper (real one, before BMW meddled) - unreliable as heck, but oh so much fun. |

My Red Mark I Fabia VRS. I miss it sooo much. Such an underrated car. Sooo much torque and people didn't expect me to floor it at the lights.

I used to roll the top back, slide passenger seat vack and stick my canoe in and go.
Btw with the GSA 1300 cc engine and 5 speed gearbox it could shift at the lights and cause a few golf Gti or 205 Gti guys jaws to drop. Brought so much pleasure. One had to be careful going too fast around corners ir you'd find yourself thinking ull scrape your elbow on the tarmac if you had ur arm out the flip up window |

My 1968 series IIa land rover (pink panther) which the previous owner had sprayed aubergine -absolutely hopeless fuel consumption courtesy of the military spec low range gearing with a whine that would drown out any chance of a conversation once the speed got close to 50mph (it's upper limit). Got rid of it when common sense prevailed (not the best choise for a commute) -but I sure do miss it |

Not sure on what one was the best.... I've had over 150 to chose from!
The scoob was fun, closely followed by the Capri 3.0 and then possibly the XR2i
Wish I still had my RS200 though, worth a small fortune these days.
Car I drive now is a very reliable Mondeo (or mondildo when it's fucked) and is Prob ably the most comfortable of the lot.
The old Sierra 4x4 was also a beast.... Ford's have (mostly) been my personal choice, only changing on a few occasions for the japs.
Next car.... probably a DBS |

I learnt from watching my dad being royally shafted by his love of all things Ford -especially as I was generally the gimp helping to push start the thing before school every day -Now I am Jap all the way (apart from my occassional daliance with Landrover -but only the pre 80's varieties). |
