I know a man who is on his fourth wife, I think he's a serial husband. He is a philanderer though who plays away, first wife threw him out, second wife ran off with someone else, third wife didn't fancy him anymore. He cheated on all of them though. Probably will break up with no 4 soon and be onto no 5 XXX

It sure is if you do it right

I love being married. It's sad that so many marriages don't work out. I can't judge someone who's been married multiple times as I've clearly been more fortunate. And for that I'm grateful.

I get that, totally and completely, but were the women happy when it went wrong and they got divorced? Maybe the women were hoping they would be 'the one' who could make him settle and be happy. I'm not knocking marriage in an way, shape or form, but 5 times is excessive.

I don't know if the women were unhappy when it went wrong. I think it's dangerous to assume that the women played no part in the breakdown of the relationships though. He's the common denominator in the breakdown of these relationships but I don't know how many previous and subsequent marriages his ex wives have had. Maybe both he and his wives find it difficult to sustain long term relationships.

How many marriages is acceptable?

A friend of mine is on her 3rd marriage.

First one was a forced marriage, due to her getting pregnant. They were too young and it didn't work out.

Second one he got abusive, so she left.

Third one he is younger than her, things are ok at the moment.

One divorce is unfortunate. Two is careless. When you’re on your third, I think you have to accept that you’re not a good judge of whether or not you should marry someone.

Second marriages are statistically more likely to end in divorce than first marriages. On average, people don't learn from their mistakes. Third marriages are also less successful than second ones!

Yes, it does depend on the reason. I would think carefully before committing to someone who'd been widowed four times.

It's unlikely that I would marry for a third time, let alone a fifth but I suspect I'd scare them away on a first date with my list of requirements from a relationship.

I know someone who is on their fourth husband. First one they were naive about men, he cheated on her but a wiser person would have seen it coming. Second one was a rebound to the first, didn't end well. Third one lasted the longest but they ended up having an affair with the person who is husband number 4. All in all, 4 pretty shite choices. From their point of view, the first one blindsided them but that's because they refuse to educate themselves on the ways of the world.

Ive no idea. She and I are polar opposites. I think she just cannot be alone. Between the husbands there have been numerous engagements after a week of knowing them and the children always referred to each new man as their new daddy. That was why I distanced myself from her. She would. Finish with one and another would move in the same day. I doubt she even had times to change the sheets!

"How many marriages is acceptable?

One divorce is unfortunate. Two is careless. When you’re on your third, I think you have to accept that you’re not a good judge of whether or not you should marry someone.

Second marriages are statistically more likely to end in divorce than first marriages. On average, people don't learn from their mistakes. Third marriages are also less successful than second ones!"

Don’t say that!!!! I’d like to think I learnt from my first marriage!!

Personally I wouldn't marry someone that has been so order more than once. We all make mistakes but if you can't learn from them and get divorced again I don't want to be the 3rd. Can do without that heartache thank you
