With the trailer out now for the live action remake of Dumbo, I just want to ask what are your thoughts on Disney remakes.
Are they a refreshing take on the classics we've known and loved as kids or are just pointless shot for shot cash grabs? |

A bit of both.
It's blatant money making rehashing of old material.
But.....with advances in animation technology and being able to blend CGI into live action shots, they can fulfill the visions of Disney ever more vividly and bring the classic tales to a whole new audience. Thus preserving them for potentially another 100 years of enjoyment by kids. |

I think they have already made a lion king one and it's due for release within the next two years |

The one remake I liked is 101 dalmatians. What was good about that remake was that there was plenty of good story and character development unlike some of the remakes these days. |

I hated the remakes of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast but that is nothing compared to the bastardisation that came before them in 2014 known as Maleficent.
This movie threw everything we had known and loved in the original straight in the bin and gave us the most unlikable and pointless characters and a story that makes no sense. What is worse is that they took the greatest Disney Villain of all time and changed her from being pure evil into being a misunderstood character. |
