So...having seen how cheap Eurostar tickets are down to the south of France I was thinking of heading down to Antibes for a long weekend, then noticed they also go to Cap d'age

As a single guy what's everyone's thoughts on it down there? I'm not looking for a sex holiday but i would be curious to explore the place!

My dad has a house up in the hills in a little village in south west France, close to the Spanish border. Fantastically picturesque part of the world, great views and great food. Not really the sort of place for a single lads' holiday though, unless you just want to enjoy the scenery and culture

I'm a bit of a wuss with flying so take diazepam, if it's for a weekend then I have to dose up, recover then dose up to fly back....i wouldn't be good to anyone haha

Eurostar ranges from £60 each way to £120 depending on when and which seat you have. Hotels are fairly cheap too

If anyone wants to come along let me know haha we can organise a fan excursion haha

Yeah to be fair I'm looking at chilling for a weekend rather than hustle and bustle so it sounds perfect!

Google a town called Limeuil, it'll give you a fair idea of what most of that region is like

Beautiful part of the world. Stayed in Argeles-Sur-Mer a couple of times, love it round there - Collioure is one of my favourite places to just wander round

Just around the corner

If you’re looking for culture then there’s plenty to go at: Aigues Mort, Pont du Gard, Avignon etc.

Alternatively, grab a coffee, pull up a chair and watch France roll by.

You can get cheap flights so I'd forego the train. I intended going on my own but a friend came with me...glad she did. I drove past Cap d'Age on my way to Carcassonne. A good place to stay but you'd need more than a weekend to explore.

Agree...but you can't do that in a weekend. Where's the place you look across a valley to see three castles almost on top of each other?

Went to Cap D'agde last year and IMO it is the naffest place in France, I could not believe it!

Montpellier on the other hand, one of the most glorious cities I have ever seen - go there! Or go to Port Grimaud/StTropez and watch the beautiful people go by, that's always fun!

Just be aware if you are thinking of going soon that a lot of France has had continuous rain and there is flooding in places.
