Things you notice... As you get a little older....
Jump to: Newest in thread
Ok, I realise that I'm not a spring chicken anymore. But as I shaved my cock and balls and trimmed above this morning, I realised that I would never have dreamed of doing that in my teens in the late eighties.
Same with lube! The younger me didn't realise how lovely it could feel, that it wasn't just for anal.
So what have the years taught you? |

I'm finally accepting that I can't cope on four hour's sleep every night
These days I need a good long sleep at least twice a week.

That women used to look at me with lust in their eyes, the lust turned to a mixture of anger and disgust now as I approach 50 if I look at a woman I get looks back that border on pity and confusion!
I assume that I am no longer seen by the opposite sex in a sexual way or as any sort of way other than the way someone looks at an old car, nostalgia yes but they realise the engine and bodywork has seen better days and would be much better off with a newer model.
I guess I just need to find women who like vintage cars and don't mind having to turn the starting handle a few more times and maybe leave the ch oke out a little longer |

I've found that some things matter way less, like money, sex, social acceptance etc. But other things matter more like family, good friends, wanting to leave the world a slightly better place than I found it. |

That my parents are getting older and older, I’m 40 next year and my brother is 50 too. My dad is getting all these health problems (he’s only 69...fuck me another big birthday next year too lol) and I realised a few weeks ago that time with them is precious.

That the most important thing you can ever give someone is your time and attention. It's the one thing you can never get back. The most precious commodity we have.
That and I should have listened to my mother... |

"I've found when I move I sound like a Rubik's Cube."
My neighbours probably think I have an awesome early morning sex life, with all the grunts and groans that I make getting my aching body out of bed |

"You make a funny lil noise when you get up from a armchair or sofa lol "
I was talking with someone in work the other week and we were saying we noticed we sigh more now, she was sat at her desk the other day when I walked past and noticed I did it, hate getting older lol.

Has taught me not to give a crap what others think or say about me.
It's my life and I will live it as I choose.....
Oh and as a footnote..getting older means wearing glasses or asking the kids to read the menu |

You realise the world, although no where near perfect, is more tolerant than yesterday but not as tolerant as tommorow.
As I get older I really want tolerance to be my vocation. Just hopefully making it easier for one person at a time. |

We must live in different worlds.
I despair at the decline of modern society and worry about the world we are leaving for our children. |

Agree
Guilty too as far less tolerant of others as we have gotten older.
Can't stand today's PC BS |

I'd love to agree and society is way more tolerant in a lot of ways.
I fear for the future as extremism seems to be making a worrying comeback for some. |

I’ve noticed I still make a few mistakes, but I’m a lot wiser, sometimes more tolerant and actually quite enjoy life...resisting mentioning politics, racism, austerity, people suffering injustice and other stuff that grips my shit! |

If you look at social history, there are a lot of "two steps forward, one step back" cycles.
The general momentum is forward towards more tolerance, but often, in the moment, it does not look like it!
In the next 10-15 years or so, there is going to be a backlash against the state of inequality we have at present.

"That no much really matters.
I was going to put something flippant, but then read that.
Yes, that is my most important discovery during the aging process.
It's great isn't it.
"
Isn't it just?!
I am genuinely having the time of my life at present! |

My parents are both dead - spend more time with those you love. A rich guy in the USA called Forbes (who did the magazine) was old and very rich and he said he would give all his millions away if only he could have more time. |

My other half asked me the other day why I never got excited, angry etc about anything. My reply was pretty much this: because in the grand scheme of things nothing really matters. |

How dry your skin gets
And my vagina doesn’t get as moist as it once does. Although that is probably due to the lack of sex.
Grey eyebrow hair is a bit of a bummer too.
I don’t eat toffees with such carefree abandon as i once did either.

It migrates!
I don't think men loose it, it just moves from their head to their nose, ears, back and shoulders! |

But only up to a point it would seem. You stop at 55.
Veteran is ok, vintage not?!
"
The upper limit fluctuates with my mood - i’d say 60 is my true cut off point but most 60 years who message me have knocked a few years off |

I'm thinking I might need to knock a couple of years off. 50 is too round a number, people tend to pick it a lot! |

You're not supposed to to pluck nasal hair, it can lead to brain infection.

I'll take that risk, rather than have bloody spider legs hanging out of my nose.
Is it safe to pluck ear hairs?
