How on earth do you pick them?!
We have a rough idea of the kinda things we want but there's so many shapes and sizes and materials!
How do you choose?

Most of ours were acquired by my partner who couldn’t resist a bargain, when we talked about what we wanted to try he would look on LH and it was always a case of “ohh if you buy this you get those free” bless him  |

I used to collect toys so hAve a weird variety of shapes and sizes. Some just make me laugh while others are ooooo.
Go for something you like the look of. Think about colour texture and shape.
I treated myself to a wand and got quite a bit of money off by shopping about for brands.
If you want to try a shape or style have a look in Anne Summers and see what they've got. You can get hands on so to speak and the staff are great. One got me to try the flavoured lube and I'd never do it voluntarily.
Also go for cheap if you want to try something. If you like it you can always get a better one later. |

I generally have in mind what I want to buy.
I'll then research it read the comments on the individual product (s)
Most toys I've bought have been fully satisfactory....apart from the pain in the arse ones...but then I quite like that

I go by the reviews and what I like the look of. I used to get a lot from Orgasmic, who had amazing sales! They are no longer on the go unfortunately, so generally LH now.

My fave is a girth 10” glass dildo. You can cool it warm it etc, it’s too long to be honest I can never fit it all the way in, but it’s fantastic for its girth and nice if inserted cooler than room temp. |

For typically priced toys in the £20-100 range it is usually based on desire (oh that looks interesting/fun) and a quick read of the reviews on the sellers site. With slightly more expensive toys, £100-200, I tend to do a bit more internet research trying to track down some reviews independent of the seller or manufacturer. For the big price tag toys the research tends to drag out over weeks or months and I will try and hunt down every bit of info on all options before making a purchase, and even then some things still produce to odd suprise. |

Usually it's a case of "oooh that looks like it could be fun" and sometimes it's based on a "need" - usually go by reviews or simply liking the look of something...
...biggest mistake was a butt plug where my eyes really were bigger than my...

Know your parts (which I am sure you do). Then find a decent shop (pulse, etc). Then have a honest conversation with the store clerk. If they are any good they can put you on a good path. That is how we did it. |

I just tell people how awesome the Doxy wand is to encourage more people to get them! Visiting kink and swing events means I get to try things out which can be fun. Reading reviews can be useful, but doesn't mean you have to buy from that site. I do find it odd that that Amazonian site hides their adult stuff unless you are in the Health and Beauty section- but the price, for instance, of a Senze massage candle is much more on a standard search than if you're in the Sex and Sensuality section. It's just trial and error. Depends what I'm after but I generally go for the higher end sex toys now. My latest vibe is the lovense lush and I like that because my man can operate it from 200 miles away
