Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you) |
A rucksack or shopping bag will help to get food and drink from the kitchen to the tv - no one ever tells you that and you spend ages struggling to carry a sandwich
I have broke my ankles 5 times so I know how frustrating it can be x |

I've spent a lot of time not working due to a health issue and it can really get you down if you don't do something about getting out and about. I missed seeing other adults apart from family especially conversation. Even if it's just for a coffee, get out the house! I read a lot and watched movies mostly but on the days my mobility was good and pain was OK I made sure I made the most of it. Don't let it get you down.

a quandary, could you change my mind? |
Am sure you will have a pair of crutches, make the most of your time, no reason why you can't still go out, OK it might take longer to walk anywhere but you have time on your side. |

"Any one got some tips on surviving 6-8 weeks with a broken ankle /foot "
I had an ankle reconstruction 3 weeks ago and managed to get the boss to agree for me work from home. I've been climbing the walls tho as hardly been out during the day (I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment block with no lift). I'm hoping the boss will let me back in the office at some point this week at least for a couple of days a week as I have another 3/4 weeks in a boot and I'll go mental if I have to WFH for all that time!
It says something when you're actually looking forward to using Northern Rail again! |

Don't be a namby-pamby man, it's only a broken ankle. Get off your arse and go out on your crutches. XXX |

8 weeks is nothing, know people that have taken a year to get a broken leg fixed, spend 2 weeks learning how to walk with crutches and get friends, busses, or taxi to take you places. |
