I stopped watching football shortly after that, and didn’t start again until I was an adult, but it’s the English Premier League I follow, so it’s generally players I like watching in the squad. Unfortunately, some of the English press and pundits’ unrealistic assessment of the squad makes watching the games on telly less enjoyable than it should be. I’m not excited for this World Cup. The desire to be inclusive means that there will be far too many sub-standard games until we get to the knockout stages. | |||
