Burning pipes in concrete

Obviously not idea but what are the thoughts on burying HW and Gas pipes in concrete screed inside the house. The pipes have been there a number of years already but as I’m gutting the house I’ve found quite a few.

There’s not really a option to move them so wondered if you’d recommend lagging them or covering in denso tape and going back over them.

Any useful help, tips and suggestions appreciated please.

Thanks

I’d wrap them in either the flexible round conduit you can get that looks like a hoover hose, or slip some split drainpipe over them, gives them a bit of room to flex and I think cement actually corrodes copper pipes, albeit probably over too long a timeframe to worry about realistically.

I’d definitely do something with them though, even if you clip some large electrical conduit around them.

If it’s a long run and your pressures high maybe look at fixing them at some point too so you don’t get any hammering.

Just a what I’d probably do, no doubt somebody who actually knows will be along shortly.

if it just the hot water pipe the concrete will lower the heat from it very quickly

insulation is best to use on these hot pipes but also cold pipes

as goes for gas concrete is corrosive to copper pipe but thats more at the joints of the copper pipe
