I was meeting someone for a social and I told him to phone me when he left home as he didn't live far from me. Driving to the meeting place would take me the same time to walk so I waited for his call.
When he called he said he was so sorry he'd been involved in a car accident and it had caused a road block through Croydon. I said yeah...right...and not to contact me again.
Later, on the local news there he was giving an interview on how he narrowly escaped death in the pile up.  |
