After some thought provoking comments for me to someone I am interested to know those of you who do have FwB what this consists of...
Do you just meet to have sex as and when it suits you both? How often just every now and again or on a more regular basis?
Or as the name suggests are they your friend as well that you would see socially go out for a drink with and have a laugh with or be a friend when all shit is going on?
Im sure its different for different people...but I think if I go down this path I’d like the social side as well... but is that unrealistic to txt and say ‘hey had a shit day do you fancy going out and having a drink?’ As well as ‘fancy a fuck?’

I think it’s whatever works for you both. So long as you know where the lines are (if there are any) then it’s all good.
I’ve seen the terms FB and FwB bounced around to define slightly differing relationships and arrangements. Personally I’d say the use of the term friend would infer a slightly more intimate connection so I’d throw in social interaction with that too.
Just my musings though, it’s all about what works for you both |

I think the point is that you have someone who, in addition to being attracted to, you respect and admire, without the romantic intent or the likelihood of happy ever after.
So. You treat them when you’re not fucking them as any other friend. So fun, flirty messages and generally chatting about anything as you see fit. It’s important to feel part of each other’s lives.
The problem comes when you meet and don’t fuck. Most people associate decreasing sex with the start of things going wrong in a conventional relationship, and you run the risk of becoming a friend without benefits, or a partner!! |

Having typed out my previous post I think I’ve finally just realised the difference between a friend with benefits and a fuck buddy.
I think for me it would be possible for a friend with benefits to become a partner/spouse. A fuck buddy in my mind is someone you have incredible sex with, but don’t feel the same degree of affection/responsibility for in between. |

I have a fwb - in my veri she refers to me as her online husband. I don’t see her as much as we’d like due to time constraints.
I’d like another lady FWB who hasn’t such a busy lifestyle.

I only really do FWB of both sexes really. The people I plan to meet are well informed from the start that I'm not looking for one off meets, I need to build up a connection and rapport. I like to see them for socials or even just hang around and watch a film with. I build ups friendship first before fucking their brains out . I find it just makes the sex better |

In my 3 years here I've had 4 FWSB's. People who I have got to know well, enjoy spending time with and have had some fantastic sex with.

I agree with both of you above!! If you have a spark and connection with someone then for me personally I’d like to have that socially as well and it makes for amazing sex!!

I had a fwb. We text each other a couple of times a day. Would share our troubles etc. Didn't really have time to "socialise" due to other comitments and distance but would meet for sex every couple of weeks.
Have fuck buddies who just meet for sex and don't really interact in between.
I like both but looking for a new fwb. |

I’d always take it to be exactly what it says it is - a friend with benefits. So absolutely would have a social side. Basically anything you would have with any other friend, but also happen to have sex with.
Maybe it’s the subtle different between a friend with benefits and a fuck buddy, that maybe would just be the sex. But then it will be different for everyone - the one thing neither should probably have is hard and fast immovable boundaries. |

Was just showing that you can find cool people from other places. Yes, we had fun on and off for 18 months. Had an amazing first date but then I realised he wanted kids etc and I don’t but we had great sex so we continued. We used to hang out or meet up with other friends for drinks etc. He’s now talking about marriage with his gf and he said he would invite me to the wedding. Cute. |

I think I’m just realising what it is I would like from fab... it’s a rolling process... I always knew I didn’t want ONS as such.. and I also knew I didn’t want a serious relationship at the moment due to circumstances... there was someone I had in mind for a FwB but I’m mot sure if that’s what he would like.. which is fine but it has focused me more on what I would like as well...
So I guess it means I can start looking..... easier said then done!! As everyone seems miles away!!!!!!

There are no rules on that. I had a few at the same time. We were all dating others so not exclusive to each other. Some people only have one. |

As many as you desire. I have a few of both sexes although the guys have just been reverted to friends only at the minute because I have one who is kind of a fab boyfriend but distance and circumstances mean that we can't be together but because of him I've not wanted to have more than friendship with the others for now. Luckily they are all cool with it and are happy to wait.
I always say do this lifestyle how it works for you. If someone doesn't like it, well there are plenty others that want the same |

I always knew I didn’t want ONS as such.. and I also knew I didn’t want a serious relationship at the moment due to circumstances... there was someone I had in mind for a FwB but I’m mot sure if that’s what he would like.. which is fine but it has focused me more on what I would like as well...
So I guess it means I can start looking..... easier said then done!! As everyone seems miles away!!!!!!
Oh one last thing how many FwB can you have??
As many as you desire. I have a few of both sexes although the guys have just been reverted to friends only at the minute because I have one who is kind of a fab boyfriend but distance and circumstances mean that we can't be together but because of him I've not wanted to have more than friendship with the others for now. Luckily they are all cool with it and are happy to wait.
I always say do this lifestyle how it works for you. If someone doesn't like it, well there are plenty others that want the same
