sky sports are showing it this year... and i bloody love it....
i think as contests go... its as good as any international game... and i am glad they are finally going to have an origin game at the weekend (origin 2) and scrap the nrl schedule so teams aren't losing out
saying all that..... Up the Maroons!!!!! got my shirt!!! |

Being from Brisvegas myself, I can only support the Maroons of course. I believe Wally Lewis is now (or was) became the coach after retiring from the game. Mel Malinger’s son now plays for the Maroons now.
Those were the days back in the late 80s, watching the game near Castlemaine in Brisbane. Atmosphere was great with standing room only! |

Thoroughly enjoyed that. Amazing concept is the SOO... full of brutality, pace, skill, niggle, drama and pretty much anything you want in a RL match. Along with a WC Final and an Ashes Test it's the pinnacle of the sport and I'd love us to be able to replicate something similar over here (the Roses games never quite took off did they?). Massive turnover of players on both sides from last year's game but just goes to show the depth of quality they have over there when you consider the modern greats of Slater, Smith & Thurston weren't playing.
2nd game is Sun 24th June in Sydney, with the 3rd on 11th July in Brisbane. If you're a Yawnion fan get yourself tuned in and educate yourself in proper rugby.
;-)
Oh well it's back to watching my beloved (yet undoubtedly shite ) Salford get stuffed on Friday. |

UP THE BLUES!!!!
What a game and what a win. Epic considering we had 11 debutants and the only player over 30 was James Maloney. Can’t wait for game two now !!!! |
