With the rise in popularity of tattoo shops, it’s obvious that they are more popular for people to get (this isn’t another tattoo thread, I promise).
And having spoken to some people who are adiment they wouldn’t get one,...I then see them getting one.
It begs the question, what changes they’re mind? For example, I think some piercings are cool, some people suit them, but the nose bars, or large holes in the ears are not for me, and I can’t ever see myself getting my nipple pierced.
Have you ever said, I like something on other people, but you’d never do it, and then found yourself dying your hair pink? (Just an example)

I've always wanted a tattoo since I was little. Got my first one just after my 18th.
Piercings I wasn't sure of but my first boyfriend wanted me to get my nipples done so I got one done to spite him when we split up. Stupid reason eh.
Sayang that I love my piercings and don't feel complete without them. |

"I was adamant I’d never have one, ended up getting one for charity. And it looks shit!"
I'm really sorry, that made me giggle! I have one tattoo. Always liked them but never found something that i liked. Then five years ago, i found my design. I'm thankfully very happy with it. What did you get for charity? Tattoo or piercing? |

When I was growing up the only people who had tattoos were Sailers, Scaffolders and the psycho down the pub,
Really don't do it for me, and they look so bad in 20 years.

I woke up one morning and it had ejected itself from my body |

Why do I picture you mixing polyfilla to cover a hole in your ceiling ? |

The modern inks and techniques used nowadays are far superior to what they used to be.
They don't run or bleed like the old style Indian ink ones did.
Some of the artists are phenomenal and can now cover up crappy tattoos depending what they are.
I love tattoos I have several.
Nowadays its becoming more accepted as its not related to sailors, scaffies or hard men anymore as the artwork can be be very diverse.

You said ejected itself. I imagine it popping from you like a champagne cork as you lay down. |
