Just asking for advice now; if am so fucked up in this town and can't be my self, do I move (thinking of Southampton / Brighton or Worthing), or move somewhere else, or stay in this God forsaken town. Any ideas?

You're 49 years old and expect other people to make such decisions for you?

With everything in life. If you're not happy change it.

Hillside desolate

Why can't you be yourself where you are and why would it be different/better elsewhere?

Why are you fucked up in Leigh? What are the issues you are trying to escape?

Live in Southampton now, great city and was born near Worthing. Both nice places. Both near good countryside (South downs or new forest). Good choices in my book!

Moving town city or country you just relocate whatever is wrong with your life to new surroundings.

Change your life not your geography.

You'll not find the answers to your life problems in the forums. How can you....It's your life.

We only get one.

People are giving you advise and asking you things...and all you csn respond with (now for the second time) that they are added to your block list.

What a strange human you are.

I only see Southampton on the drive out of the port so guess that’s the only impression I get to be honest. Love the New Forest though and being by the sea.

Leigh is so homophobic. It's an old mining town, with all bigoted people in it. Brighton/ Southampton are better, as there's a big gay scene there. Not sure of Worthing though, but it's not far down the road to Brighton.

I feel like I'm missing out here,

Why do you think moving will improve your situation and why block when its simpler just to ignore a comment that you don't like

Try to get your head around this:if you life in a town like this, and your lgbt, you get a load of shit at you, and no matter how much you try to ignore it, it sticks.

Leigh is rather a strange little place and is one of the only places I can look down on being a Salfordian!

It should be part of Yorkshire.....

Well if you had explained that properly in the beginning people would understand.

Move to brighton but be warned its not quite as tolerant as people make out and I hope youve got deep pockets as its rather expensive to live well.

hiding from cock pics.

Life is way too short, do whatever you need to make yourself happy.

I often find know the perceived problems come from within a person, which means that if you do move, and that is your situation you will be just taking your problems to another place where maybe you have less support.

Only you know the details of where you feel uncomfortable in your location.

You deserve to be happy so find a way to work towards that, in my opinion.

It's a lovely place though, and I only saw it in winter.

It is a lovely place in the right parts, there are some not very nice parts of it.

Well speaking from someone that moved from Kent to Essex two years ago next month I can honestly say it was tbr best move I had ever made, apart from my kids staying with their dad I don’t miss anything (well actually I do but that’s a different story). My life wasn’t going anywhere in Kent, I was in a bad place and everyone knew my business.

I took the plunge and moved in with ads and I have a brilliant job etc over here now (just wish I had friends) but honestly it was the best thing for me and my relationship with my kids had improved so much. (Just to clarify here 2 of my boys are autistic and their dad was always a stay as home dad so when we split it was best they stayed with him to keep it as normal and rountine as possible).

Geeky x

Hiding in the shadows

I can vouch that Worthing isn't a bad place to live.

Brighton is very expensive, rent wise.

It's got an amazing LGBT community though & only 20ish mins by train which run every 15minutes.
