Cos it's a right ball ache for those left behind to sort all the toot out!

My grandad passed away last month and so we have come to Poole to sorts his flat out ahead of the funeral tomorrow. The amount of crap he's got is unbelievable!

We've found 50 bb guns

He's got hundreds of little model planes, tanks, boats!

More clothes than Marks and Spencer

More shoes than clarkes

Pictures covering every inch of wall space (that I have to go round and fill in the holes from the picture hooks!

When I get old I'm going to be very minimalist so that my family don't have to sort through all my toot!

Memories are great - if your health is good - but as we get older/frailer - memories become unreliable. Possessions can trigger the memories.

Having done the 'clear outs' - and having a faulty memory bank, I can see both sides.

Sorry for your loss.

Northampton

I worked st a house recently and the elderly neighbour was clearing out his loft .

I asked if he was moving . He said no but I don’t want to leave a lot of crap for my family to sift through when I’m gone .

He was mid sixty so not too old .

Thought it was a great idea

I have minimal possessions and the only ones I cherished were thrown away by accident.

They'll have a few clothes to charity shop or bin and my bed.

Sorry about your grandad OP, it’s not the easiest thing to do - although i found it interesting going through my grampys stuff. Especially old photos!

I have a tendency to hoard so i pity the person who has to sort my gubbins out when i die.

Sorry to hear about your Grandad, Evie!

When my Nan died and we went through everything, she had Chanel perfumes unopened and designer handbags. I found some amazing little outfits too!

Nah, these are just cheap mass produced things. Nothing of value except to him.
