When I met my misses her nan had just died and they were still clearing her house I went to help them and they showed me Nans bedroom where she died. I was standing in the room and felt a hand on my shoulder but no one behind me. Also same house every clock I’m the house stopped working and the same time as when Nan pronounced dead

Yes believe. We have a ghost you can smell flowers or sweets when she is about. We can leave a room and ornaments have been re arranged. Have had a heavy vase fly of a Window cill with water and flowers in and a light ornament next to them has not. Had a mirror above a radiator come off the wall and smash. The bottom of mirror was under the top of the radiator so the mirror had to lift up before it could get past the radiator. Husband had been cleaning his rifle and it was sitting in the corner while the oil dried off. We were sitting there when We seen the rifle lift straight up into the air by itself

"Are you a believer? What experiences havr you had?"

When I got married. We first lived with my Wife’s Grandad. He lived in a huge 5 bed Victorian house. When I came home from nights I used to sleep ?? n the back bedroom. As it was quieter. I never wake up part through my sleep. This they I did. At the foot of the bed was who i thought was My wife’s Grandad. So I turned over and went to sleep. Mentioned it later once if got up. My wife said he hasn’t been at home all day. Then asked me what he looked like? Now this is the weird part. When I said he was in his black suit, Grey hair, I paused. Her Grandad was balding.

So she went to a cupboard a pulled out a picture of three elderly men. One of which was the man I’d seen. Turns out it was her great grandad. Who died in that bedroom and in the very same bed.

Never put me off sleeping in there, and nothing else ever happened.

Not inclined to believe that once a human body and brain decompose that there's anything of them that can be encountered except for the molecules that were within them.

There's a lack of scientific evidence for ghosts too.

But there's phenomenal evidence for the human brain to misinterpret, distort and produce all manner of experiences, asleep and awake, without there needing to be any supernatural experience at all. This is the obvious source of ghost and supernatural experiences that we may as well own as real.

Seen one years ago in my youth.

I was tending to a horse one summers evening as I had been told he had not settled in the paddock. When I was calming him he reared up and fled.

Stood in the middle of the paddock was a male, he just disappeared into thin air

It didn't frighten me but coincidentally, it was the only time I outrun a horse

"Are you a believer? What experiences havr you had?"

I’ve had two encounters which I believe were ghost. Once when I was 12 years old, even my German shepherd behaviour changed.

Then a decade later I moved into a upstairs flat that use to be one big house. I kept seeing something that I couldn’t explain, I wasn’t scared though but at same time didn’t want to read into it too much. A couple of years later I received a postcard from Germany, they where trying to locate an old friend who they lost touch with over the years and that was his last known address.

Also a family member, when she was three years old she asked her mum why a man was always sitting on their stairs crying. This was a large council estate that was built on top of a graveyard.

I agree that some experiences are related to the brain function. One day I returned from shopping and as I opened the front door and walked in, I clearly saw my dog coming up to greet me as she always did. I blinked a couple of times and the scene vanished. I knew it wasn’t a ghost, as I was yet to pick up my dog from the kennels after coming back from holiday. I believe my brain was unconsciously expecting her and created the hallucination. I also believe some experiences aren’t ‘hauntings’ as such, but some how are recorded into the fabric of the atmosphere and ‘replayed’ at times - like the stories you hear of apparitions which keep walking down the corridor.

However, I have an open mind and for a short time after moving into our present house (which is over 200 years old), I have had a several unexplained experiences, where me and partner have seen apparitions and heard noises, such as figures at the end of our bed, ‘someone’ going into a bedroom when no one else was in the house and there was no one there when I looked, to hearing a voice repeating my son’s name when I was calling for him.

One thing I don’t believe are ‘orbs’. I think it’s dust being pick up by digital cameras!

I’m sure years from now, our descendants will look upon these haunting experiences as something similar to what are ancestors tried to explained with witchcraft, etc.

I do believe in ghosts but also believe that a lot of experiences can be explained by the human brain.

However the night my late husband died, 2 son's and I were sitting in the front room talking about it. My 3rd son entered the room and the talking parrot toy my daughter got that Christmas suddenly started saying "hello" over and over again. I got up to switch it off at Texas back but it would not stop until I took out the batteries. It freaked us all out and the parrot toy got put in the cupboard. X

I’ve no idea what that means but we saw an old lady looking out of a broken window at us not 4 feet away, we had just been inside this derelict old cottage that had been abandoned in the war, no roof, stairs collapsed, nobody inside but old tea chests of photos, books etc. When we left we sat on a fence facing the front door talking about all the old stuff in there. The old lady appeared in the window and just stared at us. I actually apologised for going in but we then realised nobody could have possibly been in there and legged it.

Another part to that is many years later when I met my now ex wife, we were walking my dog on the school field which is next to this old house. I started to tell her the story and she stopped me and told me the very same story of her school mates going into the house years earlier and seeing the same old lady in the same window when they left.

I know what I saw and so do my two mates, and my ex.

Fuck, me and my mate were going to friend's house one night. We were walking down country lanes. We got to their massive and very dark lane and as we were walking in we saw figures moving ahead of us. This was most unusual. We tried a few times to your l get down the path but were too freaked out by the figures.

My mate eventually braved it and just went for it. The figures were moving about and as he got closer one of them started to look less vague. That's because it was his shadow. The other one was mine. We were just smashed and scared.

There weren't any ghosts. I'm not a believer and I learned a good lesson that night.

Also, my ex gf attends a spiritual class which I thought was a load of nonsense at first but she says people come thru to her who can’t accept that they have died. One American soldier whose name she was given, a common name like John Spencer came through and she was able to look him up and out of the three who had been killed in Afghanistan she picked him out by his photo. Much more to it than that and she’s told me much stuff that she has been able to verify later by research.

I agree with energy echoes.

The night Mr N's father died he was in the room with us fifty miles from where he died. A few days after a friend died with who there had been some complicated business involving her family and ours she sat on my bed and just said "it's alright". A few days after my maternal grandfather died he visited me when I aS doing something I knew he wouldn't approve of.

The product of an over active imagination? Who knows.

People have reported seeing ghost animals. Maybe humans can’t see them.

I had a bbc documentary feature an old house I used to live on ghosts. Never ever believed in anything like that till I lived there. It was about twenty years ago now, and though it was an experience out of this world, and scary if I’m honest, I loved every minute of it, as did the 3 other guys I shared the house with. Lots of people in the area heard about our house, and everyone who came over, even people we didn’t know, it always performed.

Poltergeists are one hell of an experience, but we started it all I think by doing a couple of ouija boards, which I won’t ever do again. Don’t think we brought it into the house, it was more like woke it up.

It’s not a good idea to use ouija boards as the boards act as a sort of filter to.....you. Although, Waddingtons used to make toy ouija boards.

Yeah bud, totally agree, those boards are definitely not a good idea. We did it one night me and my mate, when we were trashed and it was definitely talking back. Next night my mate said you were pushing that glass last night, you had to have been, which I denied because I didn’t. So he gave each of us a piece of paper and a pen, we both went to the opposite ends of the lounge, and we had to write down 3 letters A to Z, and 3 numbers 1 to 50. So we both do it and bear in mind this lounge was 50 feet in length, so no way could we have known what each other wrote. So we go back to the board and my house mate said with both our fingers on the glass, if your real and really here move the glass to the letters and numbers I have on this paper. So said glass moved with terrific speed, just glides over the board. When it stops he is grinning like a Cheshire Cat and flips over his paper, and it has done exactly what he has written down in the correct order. At this point I’m a bit freaked out because I turn over my paper and I have written exactly the same 3 letters and 3 numbers in the exact same order as he had. That freaked me to be honest! What are the odds on that!!!

People who categorically say they don’t exist just have closed minds or they are too scared of the truth. They can’t say they don’t exist any more than people can say they do. I know for a fact that I saw one, that’s all there is to it.

I hadn’t seen my gf for two years but went to see her the other week, she’d since started this spiritual class and whilstcsitting down I felt s cold chill to my left side, I was sitting in a corner of the room with no draft but it suddenly went ice cold. She told me not to worry and it was just a visitor, we’ll i nearly shit my pants but she said it was a man with red hair, a walking stick and a gold signet ring and he just wanted to say hi. Before I met my ex, many years before actually, my mate died of a stroke at 34, he’d had a stroke previously so walked with a stick, he had vivid ginger hair and wore a signet ring.

Now, I had been asking said dead mate to help me from beyond to win back my girl. She contacted me out of the blue and that day was the first time I’d seen her in two years, she had no idea my mate had died, and certainly couldn’t know what he looked like. Strange but true.

No I think that ghosts are simply the result of the human brain processing information much like it does during a dream using stimulus from recent experiences, information and environment, the only difference is you are awake.

I don't believe in them, but only because I've never seen any compelling scientific evidence that they exist. There's no known means by which your spirit or energy can remain after you die. I don't dismiss them out of hand, but I think there's a lot of better ways to explain what people see.

I think your energy and consciousness can exist for a short time after you die. I don't expect the spirit of Shakespeare to be appearing any time soon. Nobody ever reports seeing prehistoric people either.

Well anecdotally it does seem to be very common for people to see ghosts of people who very recently died, and often before they actually found out the person was dead, but there's still no agreed upon definition of what a ghost is, nor what your spirit or energy is, and without those I'm more inclined to accept more rational explanations for what people see and hear.

I can't dismiss the phenomenon that we call ghosts due to a couple of experiences I've had. I am inclined to think that most experiences have a rational explanation though.
