Bedworth

I’m rather nervous of the dentist but managed to pluck up the courage to go today. Had one tooth extracted and a filling replaced which he did while I was there so that I wouldn’t chicken out and not go back.

The anaesthetic for my filling caused my top lip to become paralysed on one side. I’ve been doing an elvis impression which lasted 7 bloody hours! Hubby has gained rather a lot of amusement from it

Now it’s finally worn off it hurts

I spent a night in hospital when I had all 4 of ma wisdom teeth removed back in the 80's. Soup was my friend for quite a while

Did they advise you to take painkillers?

I took paracetamol and ibuprofen last night as instructed and they did a good job of knocking me out

Woke up this morning in loads of pain though which doesn’t surprise me really. It took ages for him to take the tooth out, it was really stubborn and wouldn’t budge. He told me to expect a lot of bruising and some swelling for a few days.

At least I don’t look like elvis now though

Just make sure you don't swill your mouth out and knock the blood clot out. My friend did that and got dry socket. Was in agony!

Last week Shaz had 2 out, 1 took 1/2 hour to get out and they ended up having to drill it into bits to get out and cause they had been tugging like mad at it, she had to have 2 stitches as her gum was torn, was a nightmare
