If I must, it would be:

Michael Jackson's Blood on the Dance Floor HIStory in the Mix (1997)

The Biggest selling Remix album of all time. The Remixes are pretty forgettable, but its the new songs that really drive this album to my number one spot. The songs include Morphine, Ghosts, Is It Scary, Blood on the Dance Floor and Superfly Sister.

Morphine is certainly the most poignant, exploring Jackson's struggle with Demerol. A great album with great experimental music.

There can't be a best album, the topic is too subject subjective.

There has been some important 'game changers' though and they don't come bigger than this. Punk was the last really great youth movement and everything since has been a imitation of something else.

"Liking some of the suggestions. I think Leftfield: Leftism has to get a mention. "

Man o man, this is a tough one, for different reasons I can't honestly say which one is a catch-all, feel it whatever the circumstances favourite.

In Silico - Pendulum gets the juices flowing, as Appetite for Destruction - Guns n Roses.

If I want to remember the first gig I went to of my choosing, It was Tears for Fears and supported by The Adventures, both touring behind their debut albums which both happen to be their best work as a collection. The Albums being The Hurting and the support acts Theodore and friends.

As much as I loved the pistols NMtB's I prefered Blondies parallel lines, and play that at least once a mount. If I want to remember my life as an apprentice, it would have to be Human Leagues Dare/love and dancing as it was being played everwhere, shops, pubs, clubs, cars and homes.

"Liking some of the suggestions. I think Leftfield: Leftism has to get a mention.

If I want to remember my life as an apprentice, it would have to be Human Leagues Dare/love and dancing as it was being played everwhere, shops, pubs, clubs, cars and homes."

I don't have top 10's and I am terrible at remembering artists too. Morrissey live was sublime but I've never bought his album. I have an Isaac Hayes that isn't as good as Marley (which??) but oh he's coool, so I'll stick with Leftism

Too many to mention but one for consideration is Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours”. Not a bad track on it.

Lots of good albums mentioned already

I'm going to throw in Northern Soul by The Verve. One of my all time favourites.

Ashcroft wrote his best stuff when he was miserable. The more content in life he was the worse his music got!

Near Carmarthen

The Wild the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle

The second album from Springsten who was then still in his early 20's. Unknown to many it’s a massive cinematographic style album of the characters and places where he grew up; stories from the board walk and the beach.

Springsteen is observing life from the street corner, rather than driving down the highway as he does in his later more commercial work.

Recorded about 45 years ago it is in my opinion (but most will not agree) the best rock album ever made.

Glasgow

It’s too difficult to choose just one, but here are a few that I still go back to, or have gotten me through some tough times recently.

Simple Minds - Sparkle in the Rain

I have an almost Pavlovian need to listen to this when it first gets properly hot every summer.

Prince - Parade

Without doubt his best, period. It’s just flawless from funky start to heartbreaking in end. Sometimes it Snows In April was sad enough before he passed away in April too.

James - Laid

Might just be the most underrated band I know, they still haven’t run out of great songs after 30 years.

Cocteau Twins - Blue Bell Knoll

Beautiful, especially Carolyn’s Fingers.

The Cure - Head on the Door

Has one of my all time favourite lines:

‘Oh smear this man across the walls like strawberries and cream’.

The Gaslight Anthem

Sounds more Springsteen than Springsteen

‘In the backseats if burnt out cars’ must be the best line Springsteen didn’t write.

The Go! Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike

Ladyflash / Everyone’s a VIP to someone is as joyous a celebration of music as you can witness.

Goodbye Mr MacKenzie - Good Deeds and Dirty Rags

Bigger than U2 in the Central Belt for a couple of years. Criminally underrated everywhere else. Songs about gang r*p*, male orostitutes and AIDS didn’t help.

Bastille - Wild World

Not a bad song on it, and got me through a tough period in my life.

Taylor Swift - 1989

Guilty pleasure pop perfection.

Sorry, got a bit carried away. If you’d asked yesterday it would probably be completely different.

Most of my music collection I don't listen to anymore so favourite album is difficult. Loved hounds of love but it was a temporary affair of the moment I was in. Gun to the head situation I guess make do with Texas Flood and that leaves enough in the locker for the next seige like situation
