Actually saved a heroin addict’s life. Last week. Seeing it was in America I may not have done him any favours. His medical bill could be massive..

it's only like one of the first things they teach you in first aid. You would have practiced it on the Annie doll to do your first aid training.

Well done _eeside. I reckon everyone should do some basic first aid training, you never know when you might need it. Good job you knew what to do today.

My good deed was jump starting a neighbours van for him this morning so he wasnt late for work waiting for the AA to come out. He was very impressed that I knew how to lift the bonnet and attatch the leads

Heimlich manoeuvre is when they are choking on something and you go behind them and kind of grab them around the middle and perform an abdominal thrust thus hopefully forcing the object lodged in windpipe to fly out.

Well done for saving the persons life Seeside. XXX

It hasn’t been called the Heimlich Manouevre in first aid training for years. They’re called abdominal thrusts these days. Americans call them J-thrusts.

Why cant you give the guy a break? He's done a good deed. He just cant make out some words due to his dyslexia.

And as one guy put above, they've been known as abdominal thrusts for quite a few years now in First Aid training.

Peoples true personalities really do show in the forums.

Nicest thing I did recently which gave me a warm glow inside me (don't be rude!)

Was an elderly couple couldn't use the pay and display meter in a car park as their card wouldn't work. They were scrambling around for change in their bags and pockets and a que was forming behind me, so I paid for their ticket they were the typical older generation whereby they felt embarrassed of someone helping them!

Maybe you took it too personally? If you do your best and it still goes badly, it's not your fault. You have to let it go.
