Hi all,
Today's chat about depression had me thinking that me being on this site is probably not a good thing in the short term so I'm going to take a break from it. Have obviously not been participating on this forum for that long but have met some great people on here.
Currently working through my own struggles and although I have chatted to and met some absolutely lovely people it's just become another thing I dare not fail at. Unread messages have been blown up out of proportion in my mind and I am probably putting extra pressure on myself due to my illness.
Hopefully when things calm down and I am more relaxed I'll pop back on and say hi. Will miss the characters on these forums and of course all the beautiful women too!
Happy fabbing and if anyone ever needs a chat about anything, just send me a message.

Do what works for you. Theres no harm in sticking around for the forums, you dont need to be looking for anything or messaging.
I find the forums can be very supportive at times.
Best of luck, whatever you do
Be happy xx |

Can imagine loads of unread or deleted messages won't do much for a persons confidence or self esteem.
You could stay for the forums and just chat on here. |

Hide your profile and just use the forums. I’m off to read the depression thread. It’s interesting what you say about not wanting another fail - have no expectations - just see what happens. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. |

As a few people have mentioned sticking around for the forums is totally acceptable, people here can be really supportive and sometimes the anonymity helps.
You know yourself what is best though.
Hopefully we speak soon x |

I have to be honest, when I had my episode last year, I dread to think where I'd be now if it wasn't for the support I was shown from some of the biggest hearted and supportive forumites. I'm not trying to convince you to stay, I just wanted to let you know this place can be wonderful.
I would say though, I can imagine just how frustrating the unread messages etc can be.
I also understand the failure thing, it breaks my heart for you, as most people here know that failure is my biggest fear. I can completely see where you're coming from.
I wish you all the very best with whatever decision you make

OP it probably is a good decision for you to take a break from fab, you don't need to leave you can just hide your profile and come back when you are feeling a bit better.
Fab is extremely difficult for most single men because there are just so many of them, it's hard to get noticed in a good way. If you are not in a good place mentally and emotionally it can make things worse.
On the flip side most of the people who use the forums can be very supportive and helpful in your time of need so we are here for you if you need us.

Thank you all so much for the kind words and advice. I expected nothing less from this forum!
I have decided to hide my profile and just use the forums. Pretty much treated the site as a messageboard. I have an OK support network around me but not a huge amount of friends locally so it's good that all the great forumites are here day and night.
Hugs to all
