you dont follow boxing then.
lewis beat everyone put in front of him. he could box or knock a man out with right or left
he was 2 stone heavier and almost a foot taller. his reach some inches longer than frazier
when frazier fought foreman he went down 7 times in 2 rounds a record for a world heavy champ. foreman was slower and and smaller than lewis.
golden rule no 1 in boxing
a good big un will always beat a good little un. just ask david haye about that lol
lewis would have boxed frazier for 5 rounds beforte despatching him with a right uppercut in the 6th |

I respect joe frazier immensley. but you said he was top 5 heavys of all time and he wansnt, now if you said top 5 BRAVEST or Courageous heavys id have put him at the top of the list. respect has noyhing to do with a fighters ability or otherwise i respect all boxers who get in the ring any age , any weight, i know i was one so get your facts right |

Led a sad life after his career ended...he never got his dues really..
An incredibly tough man and he was there in boxings heyday...great to watch...
Hope he didn`t suffer to much..he didn`t deserve that..
He`s at peace now I guess...sad.. |

He had to have two goes to beat Mccall and Rahman tho..and a shot Hoyfield, You couldn't put McCall in the same room as Frazier. Or Tommy Morrison..or Shannon Briggs..or Botha. Lewis's WBC reign was a joke. |

He had one of the deadliest left hooks the boxing world has ever seen...
He would of beat Ali, in the Thriller in Manila, if his corner hadn`t thrown the towel in...
He just walked thru boxers, immensely brave, just to get his own shots off....he had that saying..something like....destroy the body and the mind will follow...
Awesome fighter..

Every champ has fought "no hopers". Smokin' Joe was a true legend, and when he beat Ali, Joe was at his peak, but that fight took a lot out of him, don't forget it wasn't exactly a walkover. Joe lost his title to George Foreman soon after, and he was never the same fighter after that.

Lewis wasn`t a bum...in fairness..that insults his genuine ability..
His peers rate him as a genuine champ...not in the worlds top 5 tho....thats silly..
Anyhows.. |

tyson
gatti
holmes
ali
Frazer (was hard to pick the 5th spot with so many contenders) |

What is wrong with people on here?
You cant start a RIP thread without some starting an argument.
At the end of the day a person is dead, and this was ment to be a thread in respect of their memory.
Why cant some just leave it as that? |

RIP Joe Frazier
Hed Lewis fought Tyson he would have been killed, much as if he would have had he fought any of the great heavyweights.
As to when boxing was good, I hope you mean heavy weight boxing, and I do think the 80's was the last truly great period.
Midle and lightweight, though, there has never been such a time as right now, imho...... |
