It is said that the UK is the most watched nation in the world.
Is that a good thing, or bad. Is it necessary and if so, why are we so less trustworthy than other nationalities? |

"That's what I get for believing what was said on TV
Not sure it's good to be in the same ballpark as North Korea though.."
If you google it and google is right, you were correct originally. It’s all to do with our big brother state. |

I imagine as English is one of the highest spoken languages, or secondary languages taught, that would be a reasonable conclusion as the basis of origin. |

Because most of the CCTV stops working when some citizen with rights and a gun shoots them? |

Well a conspiracy theorist once pointed out most CCTV are made in china, and they could be hard coded to enable snooping from there.. but really, what's next, people being poisoned by foreign powers in sleepy olde England?? |

"I don't think the Government got the idea of George Orwell's "1984" quite right. They mistook a work of fiction for an instruction manual.
Beware folks! Thought crime is on its way..."
Thought crime is already here and your notes, works of fiction, drawings can be used as evidence by the State.
Our erstwhile Home Secretary and now Prime Minister wants to like issue banning orders and extremism disruption orders to target people who may hold extremist views but are not actually taking steps to commit an act of terror.
Maintaining a level of fear in the population makes it much easier to control.
The government just needs a bogeyman.
