Absolutely right , and so many forget they all English clubs were excluded from European competitions for 5 years because of the appalling and downright disgusting behaviour of the Liverpool fans that night , which killed 39 Italian football fans , and injured 600 more .

Very sad.
Liverpool fans dont have much luck do they?
I cant stand the sport. The tribal mentality that men develop around it is moronic.
The organised hooliganism is shameful.
The players are paid obscene amounts of money.
The fans pay ridiculous money for tickets and replica kits.
All for a stupid game. |

Could it be considered irony that Everton were due to play in the European cup the year Liverpool fans got English teams banned from competing? |

The Italians were acting hard and attacking Liverpool supporters. Then being Italians, when the Liverpool fans fought back the Italians ran, causing the deaths. Also stadium was not fit for purpose. |

So the retreating Italians caused the deaths of 39 Italians not the advancing Liverpool supporters, thanks for clearing that up |

There were prosecutions!!
24 Liverpool fans were extradited 14 of which were jailed for involuntary manslaughter.
Also prosecuted were the general secretary of the Belgium FA and the police chief in charge of the part of the stadium where the disaster took place. Which in my opinion shows the incident was a bit more complex than retreating Italian or advancing liverpool supporters!!!
While this doesn’t go anyway to bring back those poor soles that lost their lives this JFT39 nonsense doesnt help the immense work both club have done to build bridges. |
