Dating, have young people lost the ability to chat each other up?

Reading another tongue in cheek thread about chat up lines it seems very different the lines the older generation use to the younger ones.
I must admit I found it a very different experience when I found myself single after so many years being off the shelf. But it seems that the younger men particularly are much more forward and don’t seem to want to take their time getting to know someone first. I might just be getting it wrong but do you think that it’s changed and not necessarily for the better, or is it as a society that everything is instantaneous now and that people are just conditioned to behave that way. Haha. My boy when he saw Harry marrying Megan asked how I thought they’d met.
I said maybe at a swanky Party. He replied , it might have been a dating app, or Twitter. |

I've attempted dating and found it to be a bit of a let down. People do seem to skip the getting to know you stage. Sadly it also seems like romance is dead. |

"Very much so , it’s tough you can be stood at a bar talking to a woman early 20’s and the find it acceptable to get their phone out and start facebooking or Snapchat it’s tough for guys "
Yes, I wouldn’t dream of getting my phone out while in the company of a man if he’s chatting to me unless I wanted rid of him x |

I was wondering if it’s an age thing. Obviously I’m not young and suddenly found myself single at the age of 50 so it was a big shock how it’s done now. X |
